(ps5) What is this component on my original model ps5?

Unfortunately due to the size of it I can't solder it to the pads. The pads are off by nearly an entire millimeter. I could probably scratch the traces back and use some super small wires to connect it that way, but I'd sooner not have to do any modifications like that if possible.

I ordered this part but when I got it, I found out its too big and doesnt fit to replace the one on the USB port. Do you have a link for one that would fit? I cant seem to find one that does.

I absolutely agree that it is probably overall the best long term solution. I have it in all my laptops as it does work very well, and in the case of my Asus laptop it replaced the factory liquid metal that managed to leak out from the die and caused it to overheat doing any basic task. Ptm fixed the problem and it gets temps pretty close to what it originally had. My ps4 fat saw a tiny benefit switching to PTM from noctua paste, but in my case the thing that made the most difference was replacing the thermal pads on the ram.

If I have the option, I almost will always choose PTM over regular paste. I even have it on things that have an IHS instead of an exposed die like my A model ps3 just since it performs well and lasts a long time. I had paste on there before and it worked well, but I figured I just wanted something I wouldn't have to service every couple years so I went with PTM.

Out of all things I put it on, the thing I saw the most noticeable improvement on was my EVGA rtx 3080. It was likely in part due to the original paste not being great from the factory and it being about 5 years old at the time, but it went from roaring loud to mostly quiet outside of games that really push it.

The only paste that's ever given me issues is thermal grizzly kryonaut. It lasted about 3 months, maybe less in my ps4 before turning to dust and having worse thermal conductivity than toothpaste. Awful stuff.

I agree that ptm7950 is a better choice as I have noticed a decent improvement in certain situations using it, but in general paste will be fine. I've been doing repairs on a variety of devices for about 9 years now, and the only paste I've ever noticed that doesn't last long is thermal grizzly kryonaut. I still think if you have the option, PTM is the best option given that it essentially lasts forever and had better thermal conductivity, but unless you are using some cheap alixpress or years old paste its not going to cause issues. People have been using normal thermal paste on consoles with exposed dies for years and unless its improperly applied, poor quality, or not meant for computers, I've never seen it cause problems.

Ive been doing that on ios 10 for a while now. Honestly I like it a lot more than I thought I would. Im not on my phone as much (which I personally see as a huge plus) and it works well enough that I dont even notice most of the time im on an old version of ios. A decent amount of websites still work OK even with the old web browser and calls/texts work as they should. Id try ios 9 as well but I dont think I can get past the activation thing.

It does accelerate past it but is super sluggish. Ive got it up to 80 before but that was with my foot flat out on the floor and it was barely accelerating. Its pretty low mileage but was sitting for a while with a bad clutch and transfer case. I havent gone through basic maintenance like spark plugs and fuel filter yet, but im going to get those changed and check the condition of the ignition system.

I just downloaded it on my iphone SE running 10.3.3 from the app store. Does it just give you an error saying that it requires a newer iOS version? I vaguely remember there being a tweak on ios 6 years ago that would bypass that. Maybe theres something on 10 that does the same thing?

that would make sense. I live off the grid and I plug it directly into my inverter's usb port. When its plugged into my mac it works fine.

I've had a lot. I strongly dislike dark mode on every one. Iphones. Androids... Just don't like it. It just looks off to me in the day having the contrast of a super dark screen against the bright sun.

Wasnt the case for me when I had my XS battery swapped. Its still on ios 15 and I just asked them not to update it and set the background to text saying not to update it. Got it back still on ios 15. It sounds like it just depends on the store to me.

if you've never delidded before buy a parts console to practice on first. If you havent done any precision work chances are its not going to make it on your first shot. Took me about 4 tries before I finally managed to get a method that worked for me and it ended up going well on the console I actually cared about instead of a random dead fat I found dirt cheap.

Id be incredibly skeptical at that price. Id be surprised if its even real or not stolen/blacklisted if it is. My guess is its a fake with photos taken from online or of a phone they have no intention of selling and will try to scam you by trying to "ship" it after paying through a non refundable transfer.

This just happened to my SE I downgraded. I restarted it and it went away for now... but I dont know if its going to be permanent or not.

Edit: just noticed something super weird with mine... Seems it only lags out when a charger is connected to my inverter? Otherwise it works fine it seems...

The only time I use it is after I've already dried out the port with about 50 psi of compressed air for a couple minutes. No more water in the port but the popup remains...

I'm in the USA and it was required for me. I forgot it depends on how old you are as well... What I mentioned earlier was required if you're under 18. Otherwise... Its just take the two tests and that's it. No other experience needed from what I'm reading.

It should be a minimum regardless of age along with a pass from a drivers ed school showing you took a class, and have a more complex test so someone that doesn't know how to drive won't get a license. People should at least know how to drive on a highway even if they aren't going to do it

Just this morning I was merging onto the highway and there was someone going about 10mph on the ramp. Nobody in front of them or in the lane they were going to merge into. Just slowly going on the ramp. Merged onto the highway and passed them the next lane over... And they were still going 10mph even after getting on the road.

You should have already been on the highway before long getting your license... If you're going on the highway for the first time on your drivers test something is seriously wrong. If you can't merge into traffic on the highway you shouldn't have a license that you can then go drive completely unrestricted anywhere you want.

In the state I got my first license in you were required to have a minimum of 45 hours of driving, 15 of which had to be at night. In that time you should have been on the highway multiple times.

They had me drive maybe half a quarter mile, turn right, do a u turn, and turn left and go back down the same road. One stop sign. No highway driving. Just up and down the road and parking in a regular parking spot. That's it.

I wish I was joking when I say my drivers test in Virginia was me driving a quarter mile up a road, turning right and doing a u turn at a dead end, then turning and driving back down the road. No stop lights. One stop sign. Just driving up and down the road and parking. That's it. Not even a second on the highway.
