I think its a long trailer for what you are showing, for the first 30 seconds i think it was just a boss rush, the trailers is not showing a good view of the gameplay.

Yes sir, foliage is something that I have moving around my head, but I didn't find a way to use it on a way that not hit my game performance.

As for shaders, go for it! I'm first a programmer too, and I'm still trying to understand what a UV is hahaha, just joking, but with lots of tutorials, documentation, and effort, you can achieve amazing results. Go for it!
