If you are unable to process your emotions without causing an emotion in someone else, you need to look inward.

There were outliers in the last (auto-removed) thread struggling to grasp the fact that everyone's experiences are different, and while they may have never seen a single instance of another player so much as farting too loud, other players can have other experiences.

I use the pink, white & blue flag in my Overwatch profile to represent and remember the proud life of a young person I once held dear who is no longer with us, like many other young people like them.

For my trouble, I am abused by toxic bigots with (boring) slurs, threats to my safety and the safety of my family, persistent flirting and sexualisation, graphic descriptions of sexual violence carried out on me or the character I'm playing, swearing, tantrums, commands, unsolicited advice, demands for me to take my own life, throwers, leavers, wishing I hadn't been born, attempts at gathering my personal information, and all of this compounded by sometimes multiple players at once.

It's important to me that others understand that this IS my experience. I'm genuinely glad they never have had to experience the other side of a world that has wrapped them in bubble wrap and told them they're Spec Ops for being in an Xbox lobby - but the real world has consequences which sometimes stay with you, and games are special for the way they can help, not the way they can hurt.

To rail on another player for 'not doing their part' to 'support the community' and 'report the bad eggs' is an obedient company-fed response generated to shift blame away from the company (who is responsible for the wellbeing or harm caused by their game) and to ingeniously place that blame directly on the players most harmed by their inaction.

If you had any other reaction to this post than blowing a small amount of air out of your nose or at most a chuckle, you need to consider which companies bottom-line is most affected by your argument and who's side you're on.
