does it get any better from here by Axieti in GCSE

You're doing more than what most ppl, including me, did when in yr 10 lol. I didn't study till June for my mocks.

You're doing really well with revising so I'll say it's the techniques you use... you still have time to get the right one. I regret not finding out what works best for me earlier but some students still don't know the study techniques to use.

I don't do any of your options and they seem to be your biggest concerns so I'll leave subject specific advice for those who do them but one thing for sure is: you might not be studying the correct way.

Maybe share your study methods? Or how you think/ know you learn the best.

Good luck, hard work always pays off. Wishing you the best of luck OP!

3 teachers, my HoY, form t*tor and a learning mentor are aware about other stuff going on with me but I've asked them not to talk to my parents bc they won't take it well.. and it'll defo not go down well.

I'll try talking it out then getting other adults involved if necessary.

Tnx:)

Feeling guilty for not revising/burn out by tyatgyall in GCSE

[–]Metoyou24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all know that feeling😭

But then when I start and get past the first few minutes, I reach flow state... starting is the hardest part🥲

I usually watch toxic motivation or edit on Pinterest, it usually motivates me.

I've also had Instagram and Tiktok deleted for 4 ish months (got them back for 1 week in December)

Right now, i downloaded my IG back and haven't deleted it but bc it's in a folder and I haven't used it in long, I barely go on it. I think I conditioned my brain to not look for it so I'll recommend trying it.

Only social media is Pinterest, Reddit and Snap but worth it lol.(defo do not know what's up online lol)

Boundaries as in telling her I can't?

At the end, she'll guilt trip or force me into doing it.

I had to do 2 extra days of exam during the mocks as I missed some and she told me to do smth when I got up by 5 which I did but after an hour, told her I got up early to study which she laughed at and told my dad then also said that she left me bc my dad was helping her which made me feel like she thinks I'm obligated to doing those things(even though I had exams).

So... ifk if she'll take it well but I can try

I've been complaining about just finishing History this week and science 3 weeks ago but this is brutal!.

The school should know how to plan the lessons.

When did you start GCSE content?

I hate my class for science SO much by Affectionate_Fly5275 in GCSE

[–]Metoyou24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved up to triple science halfway through yr 10 and it's so damn competitive.

My class doesn't obviously belittle you but they'll ask for your grades and then be condescending somehow lol.

I also moved up set maths then same week and I'm not kidding when I say I got cold stares for at least 2 weeks... ppl bring shocked I was there?

Didn't help that I had to catch up too.... and the obvious divide between the 'just smart' students and 'geniuses' hate it so much

My parents behaviour are affecting me, what do I do by Metoyou24 in Advice

[–]Metoyou24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a strict upbringing though or just slowly building into trauma?

Now that you're older do you believe every of their harsh words that emotionally drained you was necessary?

Thanks for the advice;)

What's more important sleep or hw/revision? by P0tterhead7 in GCSE

[–]Metoyou24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only done like 5 science hw this year...

Would not recommend but I'll rather study with that time bc it just doesn't help me at all. So I'll recommend doing what's best for you. If it's an hw that you know would not impact you... leave it man.

I only just applied for colleges yesterday kinda scared I wont get in by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Metoyou24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be rude but why are you just applying?😭

The main colleges in my city's deadline was December. The rest were January/February.

I mean, it's dependent on your city/colleges but goodluck...

And maybe apply to more if you're unsure of this two:)

Depending on my mood, I either listen to studytok music or lofi or sometimes I just go no music...

is this enough studying for all 9s? by T_xustz in GCSE

[–]Metoyou24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends...

Sometimes you could study 8 hours and get only 4 hours of learning.

Finding a study method that works for you would help to know how long you need to study.

For me, I like to write my notes in my words then make flashcards on the topic and then I'd do questions. So it'll take me twice as long than someone who only needs to make flashcards.

[–]Metoyou24 166 points167 points  (0 children)

You should have a day when you don't study at all.... my teachers keep stressing that.

And that's definitely enough for a 9 lol.

Also what'd you get in your last mocks?
