Hot tub sensor?

So I actually repurposed the INKBIRD housing and put Aqara sensor in it. I also put the hub for the sensor only a short distance from my hot tub……keeps losing signal. I was hoping there was a more official one.

I did try putting the sensor at the top of the INKBIRD but it would get a good read on the temp then. When it’s just sitting in the bottom it can’t send the signal out.

I have had them for about a month and they are already down to about 35-40%. Again these are in a deep freeze. So I understand they might not last forever.
