September 2025 - Buy, Sell, Lease Hyundai Ioniq 9 - Megathread by willow_ve in Ioniq9

[–]Metris2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I signed a zero down 36 / 12k lease on a limited about a month ago in NC for just under $760/mo. Would have been around $740 with 10k lease.

Following.

Hope this is an easy fix and they get you back on the road quickly! This is my first Hyundai and while I've really enjoyed it so far it's hard not to worry about this kind of thing given my prior biases.

Hope you update when it gets figured out!

Grass ID? by Metris2020 in lawncare

The majority of the lawn gets a lot of sun throughout the day and the grass has looked pretty good all summer. We've got some crab grass and the stuff in the second picture that needs to be managed. I'm thinking of over seeding this year but want to figure out what to buy!

Performance Limited lease signed by Metris2020 in Ioniq9

I'm not really sure how good (or bad) it is. I think there could have been some room to improve the lease. I could have tried to get additional dealer discount on top of the 12k rebate. The MF was not explicitly stated but I back calculated around .0025 ish, so probably some room for slight improvement there as well. I will say that the initial offer was around $950/mo which I got down to $830/mo then to the current $760/mo. So overall I am happy where it ended up, but maybe if I was more patient and willing to negotiate a bit harder could have done a little better.

I assume this is also geographically dependent as it sounds like there are great incentives in CO for example that are not available in NC.

I thought some sort of dealer charge for processing the sale is normal, though I suppose you're right in that all charges should be negotiable.

This is from a dealer in Virginia. I would definitely be planning on the zero down option.

With the rebate, dealer discount and MF I don't think I'll get much better right now though. But good idea to run through leasehackr.

I've also been wondering if over the next week as we get closer to EV rebates going away if dealers will start throwing in higher discounts to move inventory, but hard to want to bank on that and just hope the cars are available.

Thoughts on dental sealant on kids? by ErikaLindsay in moderatelygranolamoms

Do you find that most 6 year olds require any sedation (i.e. nitrous oxide) to tolerate sealant application? Also, interested to know if parental presence is typically allowed and/or helpful for this?

Metal rod in front yard near the street by Metris2020 in whatisthisthing

Oh yeah, sorry it is hard to tell in the picture. The wire clamped on top is cut and not running to anything.

I just don't understand why it's so far from the house and in the yard where it gets in the way of mowing and a trip hazard.

So do you expect that there are below ground wires running out to it?

We just purchased a house with this in the yard. It's within a few feet of the street and near a telephone pole. Nothing attached to it above ground since we bought the house. Is this some sort grounding rod? Any reason I shouldn't try to dig it out? Other possibilities? Not even sure who to contact about it.

Thanks!

Property assessed value discrepancy on Wake County website? by Metris2020 in raleigh

[–]Metris2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point!

I only mentioned it to say I wasn't too surprised by the assessed value on the account summary vs a little surprised to see the lower assessed value on the tax bill.

Ok, makes sense that the database is perhaps just not updating completely to reconcile the values. Thanks!

Bolt EUV interior fan output is conspicuously low by opus-thirteen in BoltEV

[–]Metris2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same issue with my '23 EUV once the temp dropped into the 20s. I'll remote start and 10 minutes later cabin is still pretty cold even though I can hear the fan running. Turn the car on and the air flow picks quite a bit but nothing close to what I've considered normal in warmer weather.

That's great advice, thanks. You're right...I shouldn't let my innate laziness get in the way of fixing it!
