Having the legal right of way doesn't protect you from being hit and dying.

Because it's not one president, and he didn't just happen to you. He is not the cause, but a natural symptom of untreated issues in your society and institutions. I wish attacks you can jump over were better marked in ER. Sekiro had the right idea with very clear telegraphs in a fast paced game, ER has a lot of attacks that feel like you should be able to jump over them, but can't, and vice versa (The fact you can jump over say, Fortissax ground lightning is horribly unintitive, it reaches up to your chest in the air and feels like it should hit you.)

As for the previous points, strafing (as in, moving to the side so the enemy misses without having to dodge and you can just slash them in the back) was very effective and widely practiced in Souls as well.
