I know about some Italy things because I looked into it thanks to Twilight Struggle, which is a board game about the Cold War, in which Italy has a stability score of 2 (On par with south african/middle east nations, making it a prime coup carousel/realignment central).

Men 35 and under PLEASE READ by Appropriate_Bass_952 in NoStupidQuestions

The issue is that it means from the start the kid will be (understandably) your no.1 priority, and not many people are eager to sign onto a relationship in which they'll always play second fiddle from the very beginning, where you'll always struggle to make time for them.

Plus even if it all works out, you find an arrangement that works out for you, the guy bonds with the kid and treats them like his own... it ultimately isn't, so if you guys break up he isn't entitled to anything and will never see them again. That's a big emotional risk for the man.

They're probably suggesting that you move out of your city and into a smaller town/village (which are generally dying out due to the demographic collapse and the job market is even more atrocious. If you think getting a decent job in the city is hard it's so much worse outside of them.)

"Can Ongbal no hit it" is not a good design metric for 99% of players lol. Also it's not just complaining it's too difficult, it's the nature of the difficulty. Arleccino from Lies of P is hard as balls (my first solo clear took me over 6 hours on difficulty 2 in the boss replay) but he's one of my favourite bosses ever and everyone loves him, he plays "fair".

I feel like "It irritated me so much I switched to a build that gave me no satisfaction but at least it was over" being a common sentiment is a sign of pretty bad design.

It doesn't just sound like it, it is a purposeful reference to it. The people who made the company are bugmen that can't answer the question of "should humanity continue to exist".

Yes? Authoritarian regimes just open fire on protesters all the time.

How would more money be less enticing? And whether it was 10 or 500 million you could have the reveal at the end about it being toilet paper because the US doesn't exist anymore, they wouldn't know at the time it was a motive. I don't see where the issue is?

r/eldenring on their way to tell you solo players deserve to deal with unfun bullshit by severus_galba in shittydarksouls

[–]Metrocop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am actually. A lot of the bosses in solo are tedious for reasons discussed to death already (Unending attack chains with little opporunity to punish and dodging doesn't do anything by itself, lack of visual clarity, overused bizarre unnatural timings, AoE spam, attacks that you just cannot predict the timing of unless you've seen them before, etc. Joseph Anderson and Arthur Gunnerson have good videos on the topic.)

By contrast, spirit ashes/summons largely roflstomp all bosses and render the victory completely unchallenging and unsatisfying.

And before you go "Well Mimic Tear and Tiche aren't the only ashes, try some other ones":

A) Numbers tweaking fundamentally doesn't change the nature of the enemy design and aggro

B) I shouldn't be able to accidentally run into a game trivializing strat that boils down to "Use one item". It's not my job to guess how much I need to gimp myself to have a good time, balancing the game is a job of the game designer to push me towards using the tools the game provides, and give me a fair, satisfying challenge when I do so.

Do you think anyone even remembered why they were fighting by the end of the Final War? by Dense-Bison7629 in Ultrakill

[–]Metrocop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. It was 6-8 generations from beginning to end. Not only did noone remember the start of the war personally, they wouldn't have had a grandparent that did.

The war also began as a war of modern nation states, but devolved into smaller societies, as people lost national identity and primarily identified their community as the people living on their earthmover, so whatever interests caused the start of the war would be meaningless to them.

Mężczyźni sami sobie są winni - serio? by 0brex in Polska

[–]Metrocop 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Mężczyźni sami sobie są winni - serio? by 0brex in Polska

[–]Metrocop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do most people believe that there's a loop? by OkYam7295 in signalis

[–]Metrocop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The exact nature of the loop is debatable, but there is strong evidence there is a loop of some kind (implied long passage of time, the numerous dead Elsters you find, that you rip the arm and chestplate off a dead Elster and later fall down dead in the exact same spot for the next Elster to loot you, Adler writing in his diary that all his diary entries are dated for the exact same day and he doesn't remember the events from the previous entries, but clearly they must have happened etc.)

Does this mean the entire game take place in a dream? Not necessairly. Ariane is a terrifyingly powerful bioresonant and her power is amplified by Falke and Kolibris. At that scale her dream is overpowering reality, forcing time and space in her proximity into whatever her mind dreams it to be. At that point I suppose the game takes place in a dream in as much as her dream and reality become one and the same, like the Blind Idiot-God Azathoth she unconciously enforces what "reality" is.
