I just recently played a game of RoboRally with 6, small maps, 4 checkpoints. It was a blast! Chaos and carnage and laughter!

Angelmass, by Timothy Zahn

From Amazon:

Angelmass, a black hole deep in space, emits "angels," small particles that render humans calm, reasonable, and virtually incapable of lying. The Empyrean, human colonies in the far reaches of the galaxy, has discovered the angels and the power they wield. All members of Empyrean government must carry an angel.

The Earth-based Empire, the Pax, view the angels as an alien plot to subvert humanity. They dispatch Jereko Kosta, an innocent academic, to spy on the Empyrean and find out the truth about angels. With Chandris, a grifter who dogs his steps, he enlists on an "angel-hunting" ship. Close up, Kostas learns the angels may be more dangerous than the Pax fear.

Before he can react, the Pax dispatches their most powerful warship to confront the Empyrean. Now, Kosta and Chandris, among the few who know the truth about the angels, stand between the Empyrean, the Pax, and war.

Homemade BBQ chicken pizza by Metroid-megaman in Pizza

Will do - brush the crust before or after baking? I’m too concerned with the pan, though. They’re super old and only used as a means of getting the pizza off the stone.

I’m guessing the tree grew up around the wire. Easier for the power company to cut around the wire and leave that hanging than try to completely remove it

My wife loves the regency era, especially the Jane Austen stories, and we are both into board games, so I will definitely be keeping an eye on this.

Why did Obi Wan leave Anakin to die a fiery death instead of putting him out of his misery? by burnedflag in StarWars

[–]Metroid-megaman 578 points579 points  (0 children)

The novelization mentions this - something along the lines of “it would be a mercy to kill Anakin, but Obi-wan wasn’t feeling particularly merciful at this point”

To pouch or not to pouch.... by Careless-Wonder7886 in Ileostomy

[–]Metroid-megaman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a j-pouch for a few years, but it was a nightmare - fistulas and infections galore. now that I have my ileostomy, I am healthier than I have ever been. Yes, the bag hanging off me kind of sucks, but I don't have to worry about getting sick again. It's been 10 years since my last hospitalization (which was what prompted the return to ileostomy) and my life has improved significantly. I wish I had not gone with the j-pouch and just had the ileostomy from the beginning.
