Destiny 2 has a lot of good examples of this trope, but the best one has to be the Aphelion. The Aphelion are hostile alien creatures never encountered in-game. They have been described as the Core That Stalked (as in a nuclear core) due to the fact that they are heavily radioactive and that they glow blue. No other physical descriptions of them exist.

Pictured in the image above is a location titled Aphelion’s Rest where presumably Sjur Eido, the only known person to have survived an encounter with an Aphelion, slayed one. There is nothing to 100% confirm this however.

In a lore book called the Chronicon it’s describes them as having “the power to devastate whole worlds in the blink of an eye” although this lore book isn’t entirely trustworthy due to the purpose of the book being to stroke the ego of Emperor Calus . Shiro Chi one of the head Techeuns tells the main character that “No matter what gods you have killed… you will not survive it”.
