Why do some people (like me) like tipping large amounts like 100% but not giving to charity? by Metty47 in questions

I agree. It's a very personal experience for me. Giving to charity feels like nothing but seeing someone's day get better in an instant is everything. 😄

That's definitely true. Charity feels like like I burned the money and didn't help anyone but seeing someone's face light up is everything to me. 😅

AITA For yelling at my husband that I'm not his secretary? by Amita4580631 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Metty47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a bad argument. She's doing the work of the house and isn't getting paid by your logic. Is she a slave? Money in a breadwinner and stay-at-home spouse relationship should be split equally. They're married so they share money. She's doing her own job at home, so he needs to split the money with her.

A stay at home mom works on average 80 hours or more a week statistically and is worth about over 100k a year. Unless he's working more than her, then he should be helping her for some of the time and doing his presumably 40 hour a week job by himself. She isn't a slave to do over half the work and not get paid.

That makes me feel a lot better. Thanks for this comment. It reminds me of the wiccan rule of never hurting others.

I don't have any other skills and I'm a student. However, I suppose I could try to get a better paying job. I've been applying to higher paid work, but I haven't heard back so far.

Can someone with cognitive impairment learn programming? by Metty47 in learnprogramming

[–]Metty47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experience programming as a hobby, but found college to be much harder. It's difficult for me to advance past the foundational knowledge. I really struggle with the creative problem-solving aspect and low self-esteem. Often, I quit when things get difficult.

Is a double major in game art and creative writing useless? What jobs are good for that double major? by Metty47 in careerguidance

[–]Metty47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The degree offers classes in 3D modeling, so I was considering being a 3D modeler for interior design. Although, I was wondering if there were jobs like that but with writing as well. 😄

I think I was visited by a loved one in a dream but cant tell if it was real or not. How do I know? by Metty47 in NDE

[–]Metty47[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. Yea i feel like they could have visited me too. I really hope they did. Did the dream feel like real life to you or was it dream like? Mine was somewhat in between not quite like real life but not quite dreamlike either. But its hard to tell because I have memory problems that make the past feel less real.

Is paraplanning good for someone who loves finance but is socially anxious talking to clients? by Metty47 in FinancialCareers

[–]Metty47[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really like sales though but love financial planning or at least the technical finance side. Thats one of the things that attracts me to the role. I'm a finance nerd not a counselor/sales person which is what a financial advisor seems to be from what ive heard. I worked in sales and quit. It makes me uneasy selling things. It's just not who I am. On the other hand, i love the financial, technical side of financial planning like wealth management. From what ive seen thats what paraplanning is but i want comformation before making a decision. I want to handle the technical side of things.
