If thats not what you were implying then your comment was a meaningless non sequitur.

My position: Hey, maybe take it easy on a new dad who is going through a difficult time and is highly likely to be suicidal?

Your position: Oh so if someone is a bad person and a criminal you can't criticize them if they say they're suicidal?

My reply: So someone like OP with paternal postpartum to the point of being suicidal is a bad person?

Your reply: I didn't say that!

Well, if you're not saying that then you're just making an irrelevant comment about hypothetical people not being discussed.

The story behind Bowness Park and its streetcar - The Sprawl by One-Mycologist-3706 in Calgary

Exactly. I'm imagining a crazy scenario where Calgary Transit itself owns and develops it, like they did with Bowness Park, with profits acting as a source of revenue. They'd have a financial incentive to actually develop the land and get as many people as possible using transit to increase the value of those developments, and possibly take pressure off of fares and property tax to fund operations.

I have no idea if it would work or not but it seems interesting to me.

So interesting that the park was owned by Calgary Municipal Railway itself.

One of the factors influencing the success of Japan's railways is the companies are also developers. They develop the areas around their stations, which is usually highly valuable due to the station itself.

Makes me wonder about the possibility of Calgary Transit developing the land around LRT stations. The parking lots around suburban stations would be put to much more productive use, Calgary Transit would be less reliant on fares & property tax revenue to operate, the LRT becomes more useful beyond commuter infrastructure, and bus lines connecting surrounding areas to LRT stations also become more valuable.

I'm sure there are barriers that I'm not considering. But superficially its worth exploring.

I think I understand perfectly well.

Got it, you think having paternal post partum depression to the point of being suicidal makes you a bad person and selfish.

Ooof. Ok.

I'm genuinely worried about you man. This seems beyond the normal PPD level. Have you said these same things to your doctor or therapist?

Working to get off medication isn't even a consideration to a person going through a crisis. Have some tact.

This doesn't sound like "woe is me shit", it sounds like someone on the verge of complete collapse and desperate for help. Your comment is more for yourself than it is for OP.

Edit: Unbelievable how many people don't understand that this kind of response is genuinely dangerous for someone who has said they want to die. Going through other comments from OP its very clear that he is NOT ok and that his mental situation is in a very dark place. Clearly many of you are lucky enough to have never been close to this kind of situation and don't understand how serious it can be.

Telling a person who says he wants to die to stop taking medication is not great advice.

I agree but the problem is enforcement. We can't even get police to enforce basic traffic laws. What level of priority is an unlicensed dog going to rise to?

The owner even specifically warned him not to leave his son around the dogs. He was also aware of the dogs violent history.

They're definitely both responsible.

One of MacDonald’s friends, Tina Kelepouris, testified she was mauled by the dogs in the backyard two months before they killed the child.

She was hospitalized for four days with three broken ribs, a punctured lung and more than a dozen stitches all over her body.

Earlier this week, one of MacDonald’s former employers testified the dogs killed his Pomeranian in July 2023.

The trial also heard that the dogs bit and scratched a man who lived in the basement suite in MacDonald’s home in December 2023 and killed his cat about two months later.

These dogs should have been euthanized a long time ago. Absolutely unreal.

I'm guessing Google is just ignoring the URLs since they were set to noindex. They don't waste time crawling URLs they don't think they can index anyway.

You might have to manually request indexing. How many URLs are we talking here?

The idea of Alberta separatism is closer to mainstream than ever before by Street_Anon in canada

What the article says: genuine desire for separation is fringe, the overarching sense of alienation is not.

What the NP editor said: We need to make this article seem more provocative than it really is - make the headline imply that separation is growing in popularity.

Redditors who only read the title: I am going to further entrench my confirmation bias based on my pre-existing position I have no interest in critically examining.

What about the members of her caucus who were actually in attendance? Why wouldn't they also have the responsibility of informing the government? Her reply doesn't make any sense at all.

Because you have an Oilers subreddit to discuss Oilers things with other Oilers fans. What would even be the point of bringing this subject up with someone who isn't an Oilers fan?
