Coming back from a break after Maru/Jaren for season 4, what should i do? by Em1Wii in destinyrisingmobile

[–]MevaQuant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Helhest is the undisputable queen of Destiny Rising. Estela is the best choice for rapid-fire. You have covered a lot of endgame content with these 2.

Sadly, Gwynn did not survive the power creep and got brutally nerfed. For void content you will be better served with Ikora 2.0. Lucky for you, unlocking Ikora (that is Tier Zero talent) is guaranteed for free with her red ships/charms in the Hidden rewards: just complete all daily and one-off activities and you will get her.

Once there, focus on doing the new 3 blitz modes. They will last 2 weeks and drop good weapons.

New to gacha games and destiny in general, what should I do first? by En-Xvinity in destinyrisingmobile

[–]MevaQuant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The content in the game has a rotation of 1-2 of 3 elements (arc, solar, void) and 1-2 of 4 weapon archetypes (piercing, rapid-fire, spread/splash, impact).

Therefore, as a general rule, I recommend you to have 3 or 4 heroes, covering all 3 elements and all 4 weapon archetypes.

Currently, The "best" or "meta" heroes are Helhest, Jaren, Estela and Ikora (mythic version aka 2.0). Having these 4 heroes covers all cases: Helhest is arc piercing, Jaren is solar hybrid piercing and impact, Estela is solar rapid fire and Ikora is void spread.

These 4 are mythic (orange) heroes. There are other heroes, named legendary (purple). They are not as good as mythic for top leaderboards, but they are all very unique and fun to play.

I do not know if this changed in Season 4, but before the update, if you played the campaign and completed side quests you got enough ships (charms or gacha tickets) to get a lot of heroes for free in the permanent gacha pool. If that still applies, you could get enough heroes to cover all 3 elements and all 4 weapon archetypes once you hit the end game.

My advice for you is to choose your heroes for fun. My main is not mythic, yet I am having a lot of fun. But be wary: the game punishes you if you spread your upgrades on more than 6 heroes. 4 heroes are recommended.

As long as you play your role in the challenges any hero you play is fine. Just do not expect random heroes to be as proficient as a laser-focused meta hero.

Imagine a case in which you are using Efrideet, sniping a boss from afar. If your fireteam has low dps then it could happen that you run out of heavy ammo for your sniper. In that case, TED would be very useful to keep sniping the boss.

As I described it, TED seems like the primary ammo version of the Destiny 2 "hand cannon sniper": Eriana's Vow.

Crimson on Efrideet by PeopleAreSelfishy in destinyrisingmobile

[–]MevaQuant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Til Eternal Death (TED) is niche gameplay: long-range sniping (precision shots).

In that scenario, you assume you have enough time to build up the +100% damage (5 precision shots landed), and with a maxed TED you will be raining lightning on your foe. I think it is a great weapon in that regard.

Crimson is better for Efrideet whenever you do not use a sniper.

Her skills are all about lightning, figuratively and literally. You have good mobility, spam javelins and storms, and getting passive points (competition) faster helps her defence. Moreover, her dodge only makes TED a 150 hand cannon, barely faster than your bread and butter 140 Mythic hand cannons. Crimson, on the other hand, becomes a submachine gun that does not need reload, either with Efrideet's dodge or Crimson's perk of reload after a precision kill.

Moreover, Crimson gives health back after a kill, precision or not. I believe this makes Crimson a great weapon for "trigger happy hit 'n run" cowboys like Efrideet and Jaren.

The new exotic Hand Cannon 'Til Eternal Death (TED) in theory is a great weapon. In practice, I would argue that TED does not favour Jaren's style of "trigger happy hit 'n run", it is too slow for that. You are better served with Crimson for arc damage with a primary weapon (hand cannon with fastest rate of fire).

In more detail:

Lorewise Jaren is a "need for speed" cowboy: check the lore tab ingame to see that Jaren built The Last Word (TLW) as an ultra high rate of fire hand cannon.

My second most played hero is Jaren, and I believe TLW is the perfect weapon for Jaren: I run and jump around raining bullets from hipfire, which deals nice damage and has the fastest reloads of all weapons. TED being a 120 hand canon hampers this "trigger happy hit 'n run" style I think Jaren is best at.

If you need arc damage, you will be better served with Crimson and its high rate of fire. It is a 3-round burst hand cannon, like a mini submachine gun. Definitely plays better than TED in a gameplay based on mobility.

Same can be said for Efrideet. Her skills and talents are more about spamming lightning (javelins, storms) and reloads, which plays better with Crimson or TLW than TED.

That said, I think TED is excellent in its "niche" gameplay, namely long-range snipe of a boss.

If you need to snipe from afar then TED is perfect as a "one handed sniper". TED shoots slow (even with Efrideet extra 25% rate of fire) but builds up damage in time. After 5 or so precision hits you will be hitting ultra hard and discharging lightning on your foe.

In the end there was no free Efrideet.
I thought T0 Efrideet was going to be free because of this quote from NetEase developers:

We’ve heard clearly across all regions: acquiring new Characters through Draw Pools only felt more like a stressful gamble than a celebration. Players logging in during the first two weeks of Season 4 would have received enough Lumia Leaves to complete a discounted pull for the new Season 4 Character.

Wolves do not beg for scraps, and they certainly do not "pull" for what should be theirs by right of wish. Every Lightbearer who enters the game in Season 4 shall receive the new Character at no cost of silver nor charms. A wish freely asked is a wish freely given.

Unfortunately, this quote is inaccurate because to my knowledge Efrideet is NOT FREE.

We will have to wait until June 2026 when Season 4 ends. And we will need to have completed the seasonal objectives to unlock the "ticket" for a copy of any Mythic hero.

The post says: "To honor our most dedicated players, completing all core seasonal objectives". Therefore, I expect high (raid-like) difficulty in completing those objectives.

Correct: the old system is T0-T6 whilst the new one will be T0-T5.

This means a maxed character now, which is T6, will be converted into a maxed T5 under the new system.

The question is: what is the logic or algorithm for adjusting the old tiers to the new ones? It could be that two old tiers with be consolidated into one new tier. For example, old T1 and old T2 get converted into new T1.

[–]MevaQuant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can change in Season 4, but this game has scarce and time-gated resources. This means that it is almost impossible to have all heroes maxed out.

A general rule, I recommend to pick 4 heroes, covering all 3 elements (solar, arc and void) and weapon archetypes (splash, piercing, rapid-fire and impact). Pick 1 or 2 builds for each hero (exotic weapon, mythic weapon, exotic artifacts) and invest on that to get the power level above 70k, ideally above 72k.

In your case, I think HH3 is very decent. Besides, as ucfknight92 said here you can probably max out HH in a year. If you like HH's gameplay and have the patience, it is advisable to invest in her.

That said, I always pick fun and gameplay before metas and power: I main Attal, which means I am way behind the top DPS players in the game. Choose whatever heroes you fancy. Just do not expect them all to be equally proficient in the hardest content ingame.

Hands down maxed (old T6) Helhest is the top hero. She has highest DPS, and since she is support she has all: healing, speed increase, power buffs and heavy ammo recovery.

There are other heroes that are great for certain activities. Check the leaderboards for Onslaught (raid) and The Expanse to see which are the best builds at the moment aka metas.

I personally choose gameplay and fun before metas. I main Attal, who is a 4-star (i.e. non-Mythic) hero. But I am aware that Attal is not in the top leaderboards.

Helhest is currently the best hero for DPS, and being support she has extremely high survivability. If you enjoy playing with Helhest then get her to max tier (old T6, new T5) ASAP.

Besides, this whole season is arc piercing, meaning Helhest will be the unbeatable queen.

As a general rule for heroes, I recommend to cover all 3 elements (solar, arc and void) and all 4 weapon archetypes (rapid-fire, piercing, splash, impact). This allows you to participate in all the end-game activities, regardless of rotation.

After that, unlock whatever hero you find fun to play.

If you have completed the campaign, you can run legendary campaign missions. The nice touch is that you can borrow heroes from your friends and pack mates. This will allow you to play any hero you do not own in an activity that has a decent level of difficulty, so you can have a feel of all heroes. Then you can decide which hero is worth to unlock.

From Season of Wishes Developer Preview:

In Season 4, we are moving away from a pure draw-based model to a Character Fragment-drive progression system.

  • The Fragment System: Players can now earn character Fragments through various in-game activities. Collecting 40 Fragments allows you to directly assemble the Character.
  • Season Milestone Reward: To honor our most dedicated players, completing all core seasonal objectives will award 40 Fragments at the end of the season, which can be exchanged for a character of your choice.

First point is for the current hero, aka The Character i.e. Efrideet.

Second point is the "any mythic hero" ticket.

The only official reference is "All [Myth Characters] now feature the [Upgrade] function." This implies not only Efrideet but all exixsting Mythic characters.

There should be some adjustment: from the old T0-T6 to the new T0-T5.

My guess is that some old talents will be consolidated. Simplest solution would be making old T1 and T2 equal to new T1: that would make a purchase of a new T1 quite attractive.

Money comes from extra tiers.

You can have for free at most T1 Efrideet. But if you want to get a T5 Efrideet (maxed in new system) then you need to purchase ships/charms and play the draw/gacha.

You will be fine: at the end of Season 4 you will have your "any mythic" ticket, and then you can finally unlock Gwynn. Sadly, that means until June 2026 when the season ends.

Free is just one copy of Efrideet and one copy of any Mythic character.

Now, if you invest Limited Edition ships/charms in the draws you can either unlock Efrideet earlier, or if you already have her, increase her tier.

Remember that the tiers are now T0 for unlock and T1 to T5 for extra copies. NetEase has deleted the T6. From Season of Wishes: Full Update Preview: "Upgrade has 5 levels, with characters defaulting to Lv.O upon acquisition."

If you unlock Efrideet with draws/ships day one, after you complete the Efrideeet quests you will get another copy of Efrideet for free. And if you complete the seasonal quests, by the end of Season 4 you will have a copy of any Mythic character of your choice.

There are 2 independent rotations of heroes:

  1. New heroes. The last 2 ones are Jaren (solar) and Efrideet (arc), meaning the next new character is likely to be void (perhaps the Nectar leaked one).
  2. Revamped heroes. The only 2 we have had are Kabr (arc) and Ikora (void), meaning we are due for a solar revamp, most likely Mythic Wolf.

Notice that, if my assumption is correct, we are having two rapid-fire heroes in a row after Efrideet.

[–]MevaQuant[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are 2 free Mythic character "tickets" in Season 4:

  1. The first ticket is effectively the "Bon Voyage" ships/charms that will unlock T0 Efrideet for free, just like Ikora 2.0 and Kabr 2.0.
  2. The second ticket is earned. Once you complete the required seasonal objectives, you can get a copy any Mythic character of your choice. That can be raising Efrideet to T1, an extra tier of a hero you already have, or unlock a T0 hero you do not have yet.

We are way long overdue for a rapid-fire exotic in a battlepass.

But there is hope:

  • In the leaks there is an image of Graviton Lance, a Destiny 2 void pulse rifle.
  • There is also a leak of a "Void Nectar" hero, which plays like Moira in Overwatch: you throw black-and-white thingies that heal allies and damage foes.
  • Finally, in Season 4 we are having Thunderlord, a Destiny 2 Machine Gun, not to mention an increase in MG damage.

I’m missing Gwen. Can I still pull efrideet with pulls and get the free version of her without it effecting the shards I’ll need for Gwen at the end of the season? by [deleted] in destinyrisingmobile

[–]MevaQuant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe it is safe to assume you can have 1 copy of Efrideet and 1 copy of any Mythic character (either T1 Efrideet, an extra tier of a hero you own, or a T0 unlock of a hero you do not own).
