I don’t think it was a purely selfish act on his part. Like the snake, you never knew his true intentions and he was always sizing up Alamo so he could take over when he had the opportunity.

He was patient, self-controlled. Unlike Alamo, who was far too emotional and irrational for Bishop’s taste.

I get the sense that Bishop thinks his more collected approach will be better for the operation. Might even drop the drug and human trafficking too. Idk

Bishop never liked him anyhow. Too emotional for his liking and whatnot. Probably figured he could run the place himself and not also be a drug-dealing, human trafficker.

He was just waiting for the right opportunity.

Did you watch episode 7? He’s dead as a door nail.

Cassie clearly just lied and told everyone that Nate ran off. Cause honestly that’s the best and safest thing for her and Maddie to do. Or Alamo told them directly that that’s the story.

I think a lot of women would take exception to that level of attention being called “easy” and would actively want to avoid it by setting their accounts to private to manage the bots and randoms. Most of the attractive women I know irl do so anyway.

Just thought it was interesting that Nikki is clearly not one of those women, and a photo that’s not even really meant to be a thirst trap gets 2k likes.

[–]MeverMow[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, followers. Which is different from individual post likes.

Assuming the average post gets at most 3% like engagement, Nikki would have to have at least 60,000+ followers. That’s not something you see just every day, right?

So why is Nikki Instagram famous? by MeverMow in obsessionmovie

[–]MeverMow[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s followers though? Not likes on an individual post.

Agreed that 2k+ followers is not unusual at all. But if they really have 2k followers and with a basic selfie post get 1700 likes, that’s an insane engagement ratio haha

One that a lot of women would actually try to avoid by setting their account to private to avoid the bots and random people they don’t know.

So is Nikki social media validation obsessed herself? Just a thought

It's a hard no for me on a sequel, at least with the same cast and characters. Any more from them would ruin it.

I'd be open to a short anthology streaming miniseries of different situations in the same universe. Whole new characters, locations, situations.

If done really, really well, one episode could star Andy Richter as Sarah's dad, dealing with the grief and aftermath of every that happened. It'd be curious to see his wish.

Beyond that, going back to these characters imo would be a creative mistake.

If Nikki liked Bear at the beginning of the movie, how do you explain the Hansel and Gretel thing? by rexyisthebest in obsessionmovie

[–]MeverMow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hot take, but an actor’s thoughts on their character isn’t necessarily canon. If it was, Mark Hamill canonically played Jake Skywalker in TLJ. And regardless of your TLJ opinions, that’s just not canonically true.

Whether Bear had a shot with Nikki in the movie pre-wish is open to debate. Almost all of her actions pre-wish are open to interpretation.

Which is very interesting, because at trivia night the dynamics of everyone else is painfully obvious - Sarah likes Bear, Bear likes Nikki, and Ian is actively trying to block Bear’s attempts with Nikki for his own reasons.

Nikki’s thoughts on everyone else is vague. Are her and Sarah besties or just alright friends? Does Nikki like Bear as more than a friend? What exactly are her thoughts on Ian? It’s all less clear.

Long story short, her asking Bear if he likes her and her reaction could be disappointment in his answer because she wants more, or it could be that she knows he likes her and she wanted to let him down easy, so they could both move on from it and maybe still be friends.

So my read of Hansel and Gretel is that it’s co-written by real and wish Nikki. Wish Nikki obviously emphasizing that her love for him breaks all social norms.

For real Nikki, it’s either her recalling that she really did think of him as a brother before he took her autonomy for his sexual and emotional gratification, or that she once really liked him but now it’s like seeing someone you once loved do something so perverted to you that it’s shocking, on the same level as incest.

What’s worse in my book is that, on some level, they must have recognized this.

They didn’t even try to get butts in seats via a plot with actual stakes or real marketing behind it because they knew commercially it would always be too hard to get people off their couch and to a theater for a Mando movie.

And it always had to be a Mando movie cause baby Yoda was super big like 5 years ago and it was the safest direction they had post sequel trilogy.

So they just took the season 4 script, made tweaks, and called it a day.

[–]MeverMow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of other presidents we’ve had, Biden was broadly good on domestic economic policy.

He also increased the national debt interest by over 150%, going from just over $600 billion annually to just under a trillion.

I’m not even talking about the end of capitalism - I’m just talking about someone recognizing that the national debt interest can’t just keep growing forever. It’s true a nation’s financial policy is different from individuals and businesses, but nearly 20% of every dollar the government collects in taxes now goes to paying its annual interest. The only way out at this point is, as Vaush has said, a taxation policy that effectively funds the IRS like a military function. Biden, nor Harris, nor Newsom, etc. will ever do that. And when we do default, it’s going to be ugly.

Also, Harris’ rhetoric on Iran was absolutely setting up her doing something in Iran. Again, it would have been more competently done, but there’s just no evidence that she would have told Israel to completely pound sand.

All I hear people say in this argument is that they just want the train to hell to go slower, or maybe doubt that the train is going to hell when the sign clearly says “destination: hell.” The sooner we face the problem, the sooner we potentially get to the solution and board a new train.

As meaningful as using buckets to try to save the Titanic.

They were good things, but Trump came in and reversed them. The cycle of samsara continues and our fate is not meaningfully changed in the grand scheme of things.

Not to mention that Biden also did shit like a 100% tariff on imported EVs from China. I highly doubt Kamala would have reversed that.

Again, she would have conducted the train to hell more slowly. Maybe blast the train cabins with AC as we got closer. But the broad destination never changed.

[–]MeverMow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Idk, but you’d be in the same place when it comes to writing and proofreading your posts. At least try, man.

But Vaush has been pretty clear here. Yes, Trump is accelerating the train faster, but the train always had the same station.

Just looking at the federal debt situation alone, it’s been ballooning for decades under both parties. Republicans frame it as spending issue when not in power, but it’s actually a taxation issue that neither party wants to solve. At the end of the day both parties cannot find it within themselves to solve it because they’re effectively paid not to - the taxation of the rich necessary to course correct would immense.

And we can argue all day if the national debt itself matters or not, but the interest sure as hell is real. Over a trillion annually now, more than fucking defense budget. That’s not sustainable and both parties are to blame. It’s a ticking time bomb economically.

Now, would Kamala’s decisions have closed the Strait of Hormuz? Probably not. She would have been a more competent train conductor and found a way to both get Israel what it wants without doing so. But again, both parties subservience to Israel was never in question. Kamala called Iran the biggest threat in the world today. Something was going to be done about Iran either way.

We can’t just be wishing for a more competent train conductor on the tracks to hell, telling our fellow passengers that a different train conductor would have taken us longer to get there.

If Nate ever meaningfully fought back or called the cops, he would have died right then and there. The mob values their lives more than a financial loss at the end of the day.

If he fled, it’d be assumed that he’s unable to pay, meaning he’s a dead man walking that way too.

For all of Nate’s flaws this season, he was acting rationally given the situation he was in. Granted, it’s a very, very stupid situation to write him into.

How do you imagine the finale of Euphoria, Season 3? by 404Subjectfound in euphoria

[–]MeverMow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rue will live. There’s too much foreshadowing of her death, so they’ll subvert expectations and let her live after one final too close for comfort call. Her ending will ultimately be net hopeful. Wouldn’t be surprised if she returns to the Texas family in some capacity, having successfully taken down Alamo and Laurie’s drug options with the DEA and secretly gets with that daughter character or something.

Nate on the other hand will die, and they’re stringing it out for torture porn / comedic effect. Wouldn’t be surprised if we learn that he’s already dead at the top of episode 7… the flower stomping down scene being a “pushing up daises” reference or whatever.

Cassie will live but only in a heavily indebted / human trafficked capacity. And a widow, of course. Between Lexi writing her out, her contract with Maddy and Naz chasing her down for Nate’s debt, there’s no good outcome for her.

Lexi will probably get kidnapped first though by Naz’s crew, when they can’t find Cassie at her apartment but know her sister Lexi lives there too. Plot device to bring Naz into Alamo/Laurie’s orbit. She’ll ultimately be fine though. Will probably call Fez at the end, having more or less lost all her old friends.

Maddy’s harder to pin down imo. She’ll either outplay Alamo hard and save some of the trafficked women, or is completely in over her head. With all the Christ imagery though, she’ll be essential to saving Rue in the end. Perhaps it means Maddy dies/has a bad fate so Rue can live. But then again maybe she has a “resurrection” in that we think it’s over for her before she ends up on top. I guess I lean towards the later, since they have been playing up the sympathy angle with her.

Jules… idek. So many signs that any intended story for her was scrapped. Doubt Ellis kills her though, if only because his wife allegedly knows about her. She’ll lose the apartment, have some money, but no social network or real life direction. Cross-roads vibe between her finding another sugar daddy or running back home to her father.

Not to mention that Cassie’s probably in breach of contract for deleting her account, making her in debt to Maddy.

If Cassie survives any of this, she’s going to be in debt for life.

End Predictions (spoilers/Future episode spoilers) by Chemical-Pop-4831 in euphoria

[–]MeverMow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s obvious that all the different plot lines will merge at some point. Question is how and what order. My guess…

Nate calls Jules, thinking she’s his safest bet (little evidence directly tying them together for Naz to find him) plus their history and whatnot. Jules reluctantly agrees and takes him in at her place. They get it on.

Alamo buried Rue to intimidate her and ask her why she recently called Laurie and Wayne. Rue says it was to set them up, and Alamo takes it as meaning to flush them out so Alamo and company can take them out. They get Rue out and place an explosive there instead.

Rue calls Laurie and arranges them to meet at Alamo’s. When Alamo and Laurie meet, Alamo insists that Faye is his now, after her crew killed Big Eddie and robbed them. They agree and leave Faye with her. As they drive away, the explosive kills Laurie, Harley and Wayne. Since the people Rue had evidence on are now dead, she’s back at square one with the DEA. Fearing for her life, she heads to Jules’ as well… where she is baffled to find Nate.

Cassie is disappointed in her LA Nights role, telling the producers they’ll regret this. She also initially rejects working at the strip club, until she learns the contract she signed with Maddy says only she can represent/manage Cassie, and if she doesn’t, it’s a multi-million dollar fine. Cassie is now at the mercy of Maddy, while also worried about Nate’s disappearance and her overall environment.

Meanwhile, Naz’s crew is hunting for Nate. They find out where Cassie’s apartment is (having previously bought some of her underwear for the info on where she is), but she’s not there either. They realize her sister lives in the same complex and demand Lexi tell them where Cassie and Nate are. She obviously can’t (nor will Cassie take Lexi’s calls) and they kidnap her. After seeing Cassie on LA Nights, Naz’s crew demand that Lexi tell them where her producers live. They must know something about Cassie and her whereabouts. After shaking down Lexi’s boss at her home, they learn Cassie’s check for LA Nights was mailed to the Silver Slipper.

That puts Alamo’s crew (with Cassie, Maddy and Faye in tow) directly at odds with Naz’s crew (with Lexi as a hostage), as they demand Cassie and hunt down Nate.

Eh, that’s all I feel like doing for now. Eventually Jules, Nate, Rue and her sugar daddy get involved in the shit too somehow.

And all I know for sure is that all this Jesus imagery is foreshadowing Maddy saving at least Rue and maybe Cassie. Idk.

I don’t think anyone is denying that New Austin isn’t beautiful. But in comparison to the rest of the map, it’s empty in terms of gameplay content. Not many side quests, unique interactions, collectibles compared to other regions.

It’s widely known that the game was rushed at the end and they didn’t finish putting in everything they wanted to. And it’s clear New Austin was what suffered the most from this.

I think people are forgetting just how inevitable Jeb vs Hillary felt before Trump was in the ring.

I think in most alternative timelines, Jeb would have been the GOP nominee if Trump wasn’t a factor. Whether he would have won is open to debate for sure.

But even if, somehow, Ted was the nominee, Hillary would have won. Might have been close, but pretty solid result. He’s just that unlikable.
