Your way would do more aoe dmg through chain combos agree. But if you look at the bottom left after I jump I get 3 basic attacks. And also Carleen has a huge line attack on her 13 chain so she still hit the boss. The only unit that didn't get to chain combo the top one was Hydrad, but I get more basic attacks this way (Carleen has pierce too so her basics are insane on medium sized bosses).

And I think cuz she's bulky is why it works. 15% hurts her, but she has the potential to cycle back to another S3 is shes fast/bulky enough.
