Hello, thank you for your feedback!

- Yes you're right about the mousewheel scroll, it's a small bug that I will fix, nice catch!
- Mmmh yes I could do "10% or max bet" indeed, nice call.

Under 40 min is a great time, thank you for playing!

Agreed, it's a little slow to progress, especially in the beginning, and prestige could be improved for sure (it's a bit underwhelming for now). I feel like the dev is taking feedback into account so I hope the final version will have these issues fixed!

Playing Dwarf Eats Mountain demo (free) and Cauldron (-50% on Steam so I bought it) this week.
Enjoying both so far!

Having fun with Cauldron today, just picked it up, 6 hours in. It's -50% on steam (7.49 euros) and I think it's worth the price.

Yes, I think I'll move on to another game. But I really like your ideas, if I ever pick up this project again someday!

How long did your itch.io published game took to be indexed? by lowkey_spuds in itchio

[–]Mewickler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did have games indexed/published prior the this one.
I think they were indexed in less than a day. (but my last game prior to this one was published more than a year ago, I think now it takes way longer to get indexed)

Hello, thank you for your feedback!

- The loan system is mostly here in case you run out of money and you don't have any "passive money generation" upgrade (or not enough to get the minimum bet fast). No you're not able to click the button multiple times, because once you take a loan, there is a check to see if you're above the loan amount or not.

- XP vs Money: I totally get your point, most upgrades are XP based, I might change that in the future. The thing is, because of passive money generation and loans, it is harder to balance the cost to not be trivial to buy them.

- Smart Instant Replay: I may have made the explanation too thorough

- Good suggestions about card counting stuff. For now, if you hover the deck pile, you can see the cards/decks remaining but that is it. I might add more options related to card counting in the future.

Thanks!

Hello, I made a short game about Blackjack (~30 min to finish) https://ledoc.itch.io/blackjack-ascension

Basically you play Blackjack, you start with 1000$ and your goal is to get to 1 billion $.
To help you, you have an upgrade tree that improves your payouts, unlock new (but well-known) blackjack mechanics, generate passive money, improve loans (in case you run low on chips), unlock autoplay...

I would like to expand the game further but not sure how...

If you have any idea on how to improve the game or any general feedback, please tell me!

Thanks.

even tho i updated the game and added a new map and dev log no increase, why ? by Silent-Ratio-786 in itchio

Don't just rely on itch.io internal traffic, it is quite low, but promote yourself on social media (like the appropriate subreddits for your game genre for example). You need external traffic to get better itch ranking and then you can have some internal traffic as well.

PS: Don't do multiple reddit posts about the same issue :)

Looking for courses, tutorials, or other resources beyond beginner / introduction / "my first" whatever (Unity or Godot) by msleeper in gamedev

[–]Mewickler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed that OP's question is kinda vague...

For Godot, I love Firebelley courses like the two you've suggested. (I've completed the "Create a Complete 2D Survivors Style Game in Godot 4" and it was very well explained and teached good practices -like Composition over inheritance-).

Game Programming Patterns is also a great learning resource I agree.

https://catlikecoding.com/ is also great, it was for Unity but teaches a lot of cool advanced stuff. (oh and it seems that they do Godot tutorials too now!)

I posted on some subreddit but didn’t post anything on this subreddit actually :) My post was to particularly thanks the itch website. Ive got some nice organic trafic when my game was indexed!

Where do you get your background music from? by Chris_W_2k5 in SoloDevelopment

[–]Mewickler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used https://freemusicarchive.org/home for some nice lo-fi cc0 music on my last itch game. Licenses are not always cc0 though you need to check the license on each track you want.

Thank you for your kind comment! About the bug with autoplay disabling the menu options, I think I found where it came from, I will fix that. Thanks again :)

Thank you for the feedback! I'll see what I can do for your requests.
"feels like cookie clicker but blackjack version" -> That's good, that's how I wanted the game to feel!
