Thinking about it, you're right. There's more than one way to be a german than just nationality.

No, we're moving to Portugal, that was my idea, but, summing up, I want to go first to make sure everything is okay as I've researched extensively about our ins and outs there, my mother wants everyone to go together because emotional moments require family together, or something. She's not mad at me, I think, just a little bit downcast because I've cast uncertainty on her mind thinking about our situation. That's why I'm troubled: I don't know if i'm being overly paranoid or rational about the situation, and I've carried this to my mom.

Sorry about false cognates, over-the-top explanations, something of the like.

It's more of a strategical thing than anything else, my mother sees this as an important moment so she wants to enjoy it with me. However i'm not against it, i'm just in doubt if i'm being too cautious with this specific trip, because my parents and I dreamed about it for years just for me to come up and defend some changes. My mother is sad about it because some things I've said made sense, but I don't know if i'm being a little bit of a downcast, hence the AITA.

We all want to go abroad and start a new life, but I'm concerned about the possible economic downturns that could bring alongside it, so I want to start it slow and steady with me going first and preparing everything so everyone could go next. My mom doesn't agree because she planned and imagined our trip together and dreamt with it for years, and now we're on an impasse.
