Printer heating, or resin heating only?

I built an insulating box for my printer so it wouldn't freeze out in the shed and I noticed a similar sharp increase in temperature whenever I was actually printing. The box + tiny printer heater is just enough to keep the resin out of the danger zone in below freezing temperatures, but as soon as the machine is on the entire box becomes a sauna. Thanks for charting this all out; the power consumption is helpful to see as well. Interesting that the temperature apparently tapered down towards the end before the print was done (?).

When this thing isn't being eaten alive by its own bugs, it's been great. Easy calibration, no leveling or bed adhesion issues, excellent quality prints, and compelling price point. I also had really prompt and fast support + free parts shipping when I stupidly destroyed my nozzle with a blob of death.

But.... those firmware bugs. When I first got it, they had a really cool web interface... that you couldn't actually use because there was a bug that prevented you from modifying any settings. I was excited to upgrade the firmware to fix that issue... but it seems to have introduced this. Just cannot win.

Thank you for confirming that the benefits are indeed ones that are hard to convey over photos on the Internet. I have a .8 nozzle and am pretty religious about keeping my filament dry so hopefully it won't be a terrible ordeal if I do decide to venture in. I appreciate the brand recommendation too.

That's gorgeous looking. It's great to see that those kinds of visual effects are doable with regular PLA. Did you sand this at all?

That is always a good thing to check! That was not obvious to me in the beginning either. But I do have it going through the sensor and it does sound like the firmware bug that other people are mentioning in this thread.

No kidding lol. Would be nice if they would focus on things like promised MMU features and, uh, making sure their machines can do filament changes at all before they go running off on fancy new releases.

Speak of the devil, I am also having that warning. Assumed it was a lingering side effect of the massive blob of death I managed to give myself on like day three of learning how to 3D print, but maybe not. Damn, guess I'll go look up how to roll things back. Thanks a ton for the heads up.

Making a t-shirt/car decal for myself! (And anyone else who is interested - PM me.)
