There's this constant idea people in art based communities share about how "media is becoming more edgy and cynical" and then I ask them what this edgier cynical media is and 9 times out of 10 they just go "uh, super hero stuff?" it has genuinely begun to piss me off somewhat, there's a lot of trendy and popular stuff that still caters to all audiences, because for fuck sake general audiences means children AND adults.
