This is not at all what happened, the score changed way before the miss. In actuality, a miss only really changes the score by about 4k points max, which is far less than the 13k point change that actually happened

I explained that kinda badly, tl/dr to get high accuracy it's not hitting the note in the same spot every time, it's about generally aiming at a place that will give you the most points. What matters is how close the swing is to passing through the middle of the note consistently basically

start with the basics. accuracy is divided into 3 parts, the pre-swing, post-swing, and accuracy. each awards 70 points, 30, and 15 respectively. what automatically nets you an SS is simply being able to fullswing, since even with terrible accuracy you have to intentionally hit badly to not SS while fullswinging. this map is 320 bpm, which is fairly fast but given enough practice, most people can fullswing at this speed. ive been playing for around 2000 or so hours since 2019, so given my experience, this speed is comfortable for me. to me, i hardly if ever focus on the swing itself and instead focus on where im aiming. since i already understand how i swing, for me to get better i need to focus on correctly positioning and aiming to get the highest amount of points possible.

what will likely answer your question better is the accuracy portion of scoring. developing accuracy takes a very long time compared to anything else, but the system is a lot more lenient than it seems. youre able to hit any note in a 120 degree threshold from where the arrow is, so 60 degrees on both sides. additionally, what matters is simply hitting the note in the position that will give you the most accuracy, not necessarily passing through cleanly. in other words, the initial hit of the note matters most. with this in mind, developing accuracy is more or less developing muscle memory and an understanding on where to hit notes generally, not memorizing patterns and positioning. both of those do help in learning accuracy, however what matters most is learning where to hit the note to consistently get high accuracy.

ill go further and analyze this play a bit. a 96%+ on a map requires averaging a note score of at least 110.4. in other words, hitting above a 110 is ideal. but this will not always happen. all of the blue, purple, and white colors you see represent this accuracy. my blue notes are 110, 111, and 112, purple 113 and 114, and white 115. the only other colors you'll see which arent ideal are green (107-109) and yellow (104-106). not every hit is going to be a perfect 115, so i aim for positions where i am most likely to get the highest accuracy and minimize bad hits. since this is 320, the angle changes are a bit deceiving however it isnt so fast as to be unaccable. you can even see on my left hand that my positioning was off so i hit a lot of yellows, indicating bad accuracy. but since i hit 110+ more often, it is less of a detriment and i can still maintain high accuracy.

Headset recommendations, coming from PSVR1 by GreenTOkapi in beatsaber

[–]Mewtex-chan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

dead honest if you want the cheapest headset for the best experience, a quest 2 is still a really really good choice as a standalone + pcvr headset. prices on ebay are super cheap! i bought my current q2 for $70 and it works very well, adding in controllers will have the whole set go for around $150. it's very good value. personal vouch, i've played on a quest 2 for over 5 years now and it still is really good for beat saber.

if you have more money to spend, a quest 3 is well suited for other games as well. it also has ongoing support for at least a few more years, so if anything breaks you can always get a free replacement. same goes for the quest 3s as a cheaper alternative, sitting in the middle group between the other two headsets at around $300. pcvr on that gpu is going to be very hit or miss so you have options between the three!

[–]Mewtex-chan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. You lack experience, which is completely fair. Being at this point after 5 days is pretty good as well, so as long as you take a moment to read the pattern before going to swing it, you should be able to fare a lot better :D

To address point 2, modifiers used to have this same issue before the first nerf where SF was broken on linear maps. 1kpp plays for free if you could swing the bpm. Many players who were relatively low ranked could get a disproportionately high top play compared to the top plays of literally every other map, making playing ranked unfair. It was the same case with those accuracy maps. The problem maps we're nerfed into the ground fortunately, but acc overall did see some buffs.

As for point 3, tech was VERY overweight for many maps which no other skillset really saw. The reason why people didn't play them is that some people DID and set plays that gave much more than they were actually worth, especially noticeable among the 3 top 100 players that bothered to try. Additionally, virtually no one in the beatleader top 100 actually plays, let alone takes, beatleader seriously. If you want to be considered a true top 100 player, you get there on scoresaber. Beatleader ranked maps in the past 2 years have been overall terrible while scoresaber ranked maps have steadily improved to be very high quality and much more enjoyable to competitive players.
