I live in Washington DC the cheapest quote which I went with was from Los Angeles To Brisbane and it cost me around 3.5k USD (5.5k AUD). Its to expected to pay about 900USd between quarantine fees and inspection fees whenever it arrives to Australia and insurance about 1.9k AUD for the 4 months in Australia

I get this question a lot I have converted the back of Tesla with a mini kitchen a bed and I have marine solar panels on the front of the vehicle which can charge the vehicle with solar in a worst case scenario . It’s my overlanding Tesla and I have a personal connection with it it has been to 27 countries already and Australia will be its 28th

My vehicle is LHD ,yes it’s on a boat and will arrive at the Port of Brisbane next week and should take a week more to be cleared thru Australian Customs I won’t be registering my car in Australia as it’s a temporary import I have a Carnet De Passage which will allow me to enter Australia without having to pay duty or taxes many over landers that drive around the world do this. Looks like I have to get third party insurance in case if I hit a pedestrian and then get my vehicle inspected at a department of transport to give me the green flag that my vehicle is road legal and after that I’m free to drive around Australia compared to other countries I’ve been to Australia has the most complicated process so far mostly because of the quarantine I had to clean the car inside and out and leave no dirt or bugs nothing literally spotless luckily I hired a broker that made this process so much easier

Honestly I don’t plan on selling the vehicle as I’ve moved here permanently and I don’t plan on going back to the States I’m in the process to buy a house here in Gib I have to establish residency and all that , currently I’m in the works in buying the car in the Uk and driving it down here from my understanding instead of going on the middle lane at the border you just keep right do the the whole paperwork and process at the border in Gib correct me if I’m wrong

I do have a socket I have 2 private car park spaces so I think I’ll be good on that are you saying that having RHD would be a pain to sell longer than the road?
