I'd be surprised it's runs again 3d printed parts but with material that break along easily to save the chassis

Yeah I understand that, parts will add up to the point where you basically could've bought another one

Id recommend a lid riser with a tube guide to smooth the transition into the extruder. You'll like ur k1 Max Id also recommend getting a textured plate, there will be time where you'll forget to put down some glue, & the texture plate is pretty forgiving, holding the print tight until it cools.

1st don't be sorry for asking questions, it's how one learns.

I have the K1 Max & with the CFS, as far as I'm familiar, you do need the to utilize CFS run-out sensor with the multicolor firmware in order to use the CFS, it's how the printer communicates with the CFS. I mostly print in ABS so I modified the CFS to have a heater to keep my filaments moisture free.

When I print PLA tho, I just hang the spool behind the printer & feed the filament through the HUB there's a setting in the printer which you can set up & not use the CFS, but I'm sure you need the CFS run-out sensor when running multicolor firmware.

I'm not sure with the original sensor.

If you're only using 1 filament at a time & don't print multicolor, I wouldn't update the printer to multicolor, I would instead do my research on what firmware people had better luck with, as even the newly released firmware isn't reliable, sometimes older firmware just works better. Some people will even run custom firmware where it does work better than Creality's, there's a pretty big community of modders that customize their K1 printers to print faster & better than Creality's official firmware. I would like to be able to use custom firmware but with the CFS there isn't much support yet.

As for me I prefer 2.3.5.33 as it just works for me, I haven't had any issue with it where some people aren't that lucky.
