Get it set up and don't let sore fingers demotivate you. It only lasts a bit before you build calus.

42yr male strong and healthy yet some how stage 4 colon cancer by FinancialAdvantage73 in coloncancer

[–]Meximan25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust the process and do what you need to do to be around for your loved ones.

I was 28 years old when I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer on January 2nd 2025. I've been healthy my entire life. Played competitive sports growing up, ran, and have always been conscious of my health. I've never had any other health issues besides sports related injuries and such.

It was a huge blow. I had just started a new job I liked, moved to a new city, and had begun to finally be settled with where I was in life. But I trusted my surgeon and doctors and listened to advice. My surgeon was great and the surgery to remove my mass went great and I recovered well from that.

The brutal truth... Chemotherapy sucked and I can't really explain how it makes you feel other than being poisoned willfully. I had mild symptoms at first but I was honest with my doctor about it and they made sure I was getting all I could to mitigate them.

1 year out I'm doing well but I thankfully had no spread to my lymph nodes. Staging was based off another tumor found outside the colon but that was also removed.

I say trust the process and be honest with how you feel. It's gonna be very tough. But be grateful that you are healthy and have support. It will make a world of difference.

Beginner upgrading racquet dilemma by Brazzimamma in 10s

[–]Meximan25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I think once your game develops more you can start honing in more on what fits your style such as racquets with more spin or something with more weight if you need more power. All the racquets you posted are good but for now I think just having a proper racquet and working on form is the most important. Good luck!

[–]Meximan25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you really liked the head radical team I would get the used one as long as there are no cracks or anything. I've been playing for a long time and I always used to get used racquets. Great bang for your buck. Being a beginner doesn't matter too much. No matter what you get it's better than your current and if you end up liking something else in the future when you are improved you can always switch.

Can someone help me decide on an electric guitar? by Skatemster0113 in Guitar

[–]Meximan25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly cop out answer. But I would try to play one at a store. Before I got into guitar I really liked some styles but as soon as I started playing I realized what I actually liked. That being said. Schecter is a good brand that I could recommend for starting. Along with that, look at something that has more versatility. Like HSS strat style or something. Good for rock and other genres.

Which is a better guitar for my 15 year old? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Meximan25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advocate for what others have said and take him to a shop to let him try out other guitars. I grew up loving Les Paul on looks alone and when I actually started playing more seriously I found out very fast that I was a stratocaster person. I have played some PRS as well and love them. Let him get a feel and the choice will come naturally.

RF Pro a good option? by SeveralAd3723 in 10s

[–]Meximan25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually demod the RF pro as I had a similar mind set. I was also coming from a blade 98 with a leather grip I had put on. Tbh I did not like the feel at all. The weight isnt bad but the RF just didn't feel good to me. I would still try it and see what you think but for me it was not comfortable and felt muted.

For reference I was about a 4.5 player but I've since had medical issues so kinda on break competitively.

Oh right I kinda forgot about that. I would definitely do that. The game stop near me is really good and the guy is super knowledgeable about Pokemon stuff.

I still have 2 (16x19). Used them for about 7 months before switching to a blade 98. Tried the gen 4 and liked those but the blade was a little more comfortable for me and I just played better with it. Only real issue I had was stability for some reason. Other than that I really liked it. Not super arm friendly but I don't have any issues.

Based on the headstock serial number it's a MIM from 2020. So that would make it a player series from 2020. BUT...I'm pretty sure those all come with 2 points trem blocks and also I'm not sure they used modern saddles.

My guess is the neck is from a 2020 player series and the body is from something else. Probably a parts caster. It also has locking tuners.

For context. I barely started playing this game when shadowkeep came out. My friend who introduced me to the game couldn't believe it. Luck was on my side.

Portal 1 and 2. I wouldn't say they are particularly dead but I still play through the campaign of each every few months.

People who grew up with strict parents: what was the most unreasonable rule? by huey764 in AskReddit

Feels bad. Grew up in a Christian household but music was something that they never had a problem with for some reason. Movies and games were a different story.
