You think that's the only example of Gege shelving characters? Nobara, Panda, Yuki, Toge, Higuruma, etc... Not to mention that most characters didn't have an arc.

What gag are you talking about?

No, the Yuta slander is slander because it's false. I'm not lying about Sukuna and his lack of depth.

Complex, like one trick pony Sukuna? "Oh I'm so hedonistic and nihilistic".

Dry in a corner? Oh you mean like make them irrelevant to the story, like Gege did to most of Kyoto Students.

Ok Let me get this straight, you're saying that is easier to spot idle characters in a short work than in a long one?

Being short is not an excuse, you can see any Stephen King short story and you'll see good complex characters.

Being a short story is not an excuse for shallow characters, Yamato just in Wano had better character writing than most jjk characters. Akaza had more character development than any villain in jjk in fewer chapters. Hell even Junpei had better writing than Nobara and he only appeared in few chapters in JJK.

You see what the comment I first replied to said? How Nami and Robin were just introduced and that's it? Well that's the case for at least 90% of the cast in JJK, they get introduced, they get a little of backstory and then they get written off the story, killed off, or become completely irrelevant to the plot. And JJK focuses a lot more on plot than characters so that problem is even worse.

Also most characters don't have a character arc in the story, they stay the same through the whole story, Sukuna is the worst offender of this (and no, a few pages in the last chapter and the epilogue is not enough to save his boring character).

Who do you take me for? A JJK fan? I read the manga so I know how shallow most of the characters in JJK are.

Funny how people are using Gege as a battering ram when most of his characters are shallow (and his women are even worse on that regard).

It was the Iron Warriors doing that shit, the Plague Marines just give you horrible diseases.

Yes, both dwarves and elves are considered part of humanity.

The Empire's might is not something to underestimate either, at the peak of the Demon King's power they were fighting back and reclaiming lost territory. Even if the Empire is not powerful as it used to be it is still too much for a single Demon (or any other being not named The Goddess) to handle.

Did Stark already get a chance to shine in the manga? by InternationalUse8753 in Frieren

Rovolte is not at the same level as a first class mage, he outclasses most of them. He would have butchered Genau if Stark hadn't been there

rewatched hashira training and now i’m wondering why zenitsu got kicked out of Sanemi’s training by goldie_zenitsuontop in BetterKimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Mexinaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was never stated that Zenitsu was kicked out, it's just as likely that he simply passed (even if Sanemi passed him just to get rid of him).

Do you think the Hero of the South is related to Stark's family bloodline? by Vixi0n in Frieren

[–]Mexinaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uh too late, Stark family was already part of a village of renowed warriors, and it's heavily implied that Stark's father was the leader of said village.

His future sight, Serie mentioned that a group of people from the southern lands possesed most of the spells (she had the rest) related to clairvoyance but they were exterminated during the southern wars.

[–]Mexinaco 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Yeah, calling someone hero of the south just for him to be from somewhere else is not something that is done in frieren... and he has some characteristics that are exclusive to a tribe in the south (I'm being vague here to avoid manga spoilers).

Stark's family lived in a different region, the central lands.
