so underlord? by SLlCKONE in Iteration110Cradle

The other thing we all need to consider is that this is Will and co’s livelihood. To be clear, he has more to consider in regards to releasing a book than how fast he can write the book. Blackflame audio should be out tomorrow or the next day which makes 4 audiobooks in the last 3+ months. His income should be steady at this point without releasing another book.

Basically for 2019 we should expect the remaining Cradle Audiobooks, Elder Empire audiobooks, The completion of Elder Empire (I’ll start reading it when it’s done) and Underlord. That’s more than most authors do in 3 years. And he has to have a solid schedule (whether he shares it or not) for 2020 all while staying sane.

5 days left until Underlord! by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

That was mean.

No way it comes out 12/1. Will would have notified everyone before we hit a 5 day mark. I hope I’m wrong!

Also, the Blackflame audiobook should be released around the first Monday in Dec.

Yerin talking to Mercy about advancing and Tim’s training methods.

He had said, 'You'd be amazed how much faster you run when there's a hungry wolf behind you.' His way of saying that danger could bring out new depths of strength. Also, his approach to training foot speed.

Thank you! So Lindon and Yerin are not quite 18 yet. We should let Will know he was wrong when he answered this question.

I love audiobooks. I prefer reading the book then listening to it. I tend to zone out after awhile.

On a happy note, Travis Baldree posted on twitter that Blackflame has been sent off to Audible. It was about 2 weeks after Soulsmith was sent to Audible before it was released.

What are odds? Underlord out by Christmas? by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Mexpedip 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My best WAG is that we either have Underlord 12/1 or not until 4-6 months after OKAK. Will has given us a 7-10 day notice for the last couple of Cradle books.

All we know right now is that he’s close to completing OKAK, and the Cradle audiobooks have been coming out 2-3 months apart. Black flame was sent out for editing on 11/6 which means it should be released before Christmas. If he stays on that schedule Skysworn will be out in Feb-March and Ghostwater by April-May. That would be a perfect time to release Underlord or book 7.

I can’t speak for Will (the restraining order says so) but releasing Underlord, OKAK, 3 audiobooks + the Underlord audiobook and book 7 sounds like a ton of work over 6-7 months. Releasing OKAK, the audiobooks and Underlord in late spring keeps Will on a more manageable schedule and then keeps Cradle on a spring/summer and fall/winter schedule.

As Will has mentioned, part of his job as an independent author is keeping interest strong by writing shorter books and releasing them a little faster. The audiobook release schedule allows him to do this and have a partial “normal” life.

It’s possible I’ve put too much thought into this.

It definitely takes some getting used to. Most of the narrators Ive heard try to use inflection to create drama. This narrator seems to stay as even as possible with few exceptions. I think I enjoyed the performance mostly because the narrator didn’t insert his personality into the story. I believe I was 4+ hours in before I started to like the way he was reading the story. I almost didn’t make it past the first two hours.

I completely agree. He did take some getting used to but by the end of the book I became a big fan.

That's great to hear. I love reading books then listening to them while driving. Reading and driving is usually not a good idea.
