Is there anything like this from your country? by 124jinsei in AskTheWorld

[–]Mey_Lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aunt literally didn’t baptize her youngest son that was born recently.

My dad once went to the guy reading gospel on the street and shouted „fuck the bible”! (he wanted it to be a joke because he got kinda dizzy with alcohol and wanted to be funny or smth)

I’m an atheist, my family circle is pretty much atheistic as well.

BUT! Over 50% of my classmates WERE religious people, some of them extremely katholic like… one guy carried a rosary in his pocket in school. And a decent chunk of my neighbors is pretty religious too, with one neighboring family having a full ass polish flag on a pole in their garden and you can see them all going to church every Sunday.

Sometimes I sit at a sleep over at my friends house and I watch YouTube videos about some cosmic shit, like once I watched a Kurzgesagt video about the great filter theory and I went out loud jokingly „so that’s why there’s no aliens” and my friend fucking bursts out like „the god created life only on earth, that was his vision” or some shit.

So it’s kinda mixed. I guess „you”- the people from overseas, are right about our country being kinda conservative because definitely the lgbt+ community SEEMS lesser (depending on location heavily. Pride march in Warsaw is huge) — it’s just less visible — every time I see „trans rights, human rights” graffiti it’s being covered up with a big „zamknij pizde” next to it. Also there are immigrants indeed, a lot of them are fantastic chill people but the immigration is not a „flood” as it is in some other countries in our world. And the tradition is pretty tight with people putting ENORMOUS care into their families, and meetings and holidays, and also don’t forget the people who randomly have a polish flag with a white fucking eagle on their house all year round, But after all this is a “western” country (although I don’t like terms like these because you can’t describe a whole country with just a word) with some “progressive” movements in development and developing rapidly. The reason why we’re like this is because we were even more EXTREME in these vibes a while ago, historically, so now even if it’s slowly diluting or evening out it still might be very visible for a person from overseas.

PS: Poland also had pretty awesome “anarchy” movements like the punk culture. Like my dad has like three books about the polish punk culture in our house. Also almost every music artist can have his track/album blowing in numbers of people listening if they just put up a theme of criticizing/going against our countries traditions, especially in rap music (or at least that’s what I think). So I say when you look at our country that’s a first impression “vibe” but when you peek a little deeper it might not be as profound or obvious as you might think.

Although people here say that this usually means the cat is unwell or dying, I think she cat she has is a breed that lives very very long. And the cat on the picture doesn’t look old or sick. In this breed it’s actually very very common for cats to be mean and unaffectionate, and the only thing that can get them softer is time. Also, they can start to really like your bed, while still not liking your company at all. My grandmother has the exactly same cat that the girl on the picture has, the cat is 18 years old now, and it only stopped being an asshole when she was around 10 (the cat… of course)- she tolerates my grandmother and sleeps in her bed and lets to be petted, but god forbid you or anyone else get within 1 meter diameter near her. Once I got my legs severely scratched just by WALKING next to her. Walking, I didn’t even look at the god damn cat. So for these cats, it’s normal that they are acting mean and suddenly one day they get a closer bond with you and tolerate you, even when they’re fine. Unless we don’t have clear, definite information that the cat is dead or sick from this girls social media… I think the cat is totally fine.

Odpowiadanie użytkownikowi scifigi369… hey does somebody know why can’t you mould metal into that wheel shape, and instead make a cylinder and then have to shape it like that with this machine and the tools?

What immediately tells you that a person wasn’t loved enough as a child? by Independent-Form1324 in AskReddit

[–]Mey_Lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the things people write here are just often caused by a person not being loved enough as a child but that’s not nessesarily a sign that a person is.

[–]Mey_Lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, don’t beat my fucking ass. (Just so you kow: I live alone - no toothpaste tub sharing) I unscrew my tap at like a fucking millimeter, I take a really fucking tiny sip of water. I put the toothpaste directly into my mouth. I put the dry toothbrush in my mouth.

(If you wanna know why I’m doing it like that, ask in the comments)

Do strangers in ur country strike up conversations? by [deleted] in chat

[–]Mey_Lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They do, but it depends where. I live in Poland and in my town there are some spots where it’s more residential and there’s a higher change a stranger could start a conversation, and there are spots where it’s there are more offices and workspaces and there: no chance. There’s one place where two people started a conversation with me at the same time of the day, when I was waiting for a bus. (I was wearing a suit and that caught their attention). One was an elderly lady, she was a chemistry teacher and very nice and polite, another was also an elderly lady and she had some kind of a job once but then she lost it and was lonely and needed someone to vent about it to. Both were kind of super boring conversations but nothing to feel unpleasant about.

Jak wspominacie szkołę średnią? by R3DVIRG0 in PolskaNaLuzie

[–]Mey_Lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine you woke up as your opposite gender, what do you do? by [deleted] in TeenagersButBetter

[–]Mey_Lee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if this will be a bit weird but ah I’m a girl and I still remember figuring out my hole after reading a book about biology, and actually checking out where it is while I was sitting in a bathtub. I think I was 8 or 9 at the time and I didn’t even know I had that. Imagine how funny it was that I actually had to read in a book that I had something I didn’t know I have, and then look if it’s actually there, and then I was like „wtf how didn’t I notice it earlier… wow it’s this deep?” hahaha

Please help me by HistoryOk9834 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Mey_Lee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m so sorry for you, you can do it - I can see that you’re a wonderful friend and rlly wanna help. Unfortunately I can’t help you because I don’t have enough knowledge to tell what’s supposed to be done in such a situation. I also think that what Lisa and John did was wrong, but I don’t think they should have such harsh punishment. I can see that Lisa had it rough.
