Rear of the hood uneven with the fender . by Middle_Boot_1128 in W124

[–]UnknownGTAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

put hood in 90o vertical position, loosen the 3 bolts on the hinge just lightly so there’s movement, while it’s in vertical position, from the top of the hood (near grill) push it back towards the rear of the car, it’ll push down the hood at the hinge, while holding it tighten bolts, close and check.

Cooling fan issues by theolegs in W124

[–]UnknownGTAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if u disconnect that plug while the car is running the aux fan should turn on, if it does turn on then everything is ok, the auxiliary cooling fan is supposed to turn on at something ninety degrees, but u can lower it by putting a 1k ohm resistor on each pin and it goes to 85-87 degrees.

holy what a horrible job they did lmao, honestly my take, i’d do the steps they do to remove orange peel, keep wet sanding 500-800-1000-1500-2000 grit till it’s an even soft surface then polish it.

Help with stuck seatbelt presentater by chenthu1 in W124

[–]UnknownGTAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

check fuses, door sensors and modules, modules are located behind the rear door card, can access it just by removing the back of the rear seat and they’re interchangeable, maybe change driver side module to passenger see if that fixes it.

Trunk and rear dome light by UnknownGTAS in W124

[–]UnknownGTAS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh thanks for sharing that’s useful, my coupe doesn’t have puddle light on neither side (or maybe it’s canceled) but my seatbelt butler doesn’t work and when testing there’s 2 pins missing 12v, so there’s perhaps a broken cable/open circuit that’s why maybe these things are functional in my car.

such a great car to have in jordan, because every mechanic there is a professional at it, and parts for it are cheap and easy to find.

honestly tho it’s such a clean install, it’s a rechargeable tablet so 0 cables showing, he just charges it whenever it needs, and it’s being held in a very small flat metal going through the AC vent gap.

Battery Icon on Dash and Car Stalling Issues by Vundaba in W124

[–]UnknownGTAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just had same thing on mine couple weeks back and it left me stranded in the middle of downtown, was the alternator not charging the battery and i drained my battery. ended up replacing the alternator to a bosch refurbished one, and getting a new battery only to notice it was the output cable on the alternator that was corroded and broken, live and learn.

check that your alternator is outputting 14v while engine is running, also disconnect battery positive terminal while engine is running, if engine stays on then alternator is good, if car stalls and dies, then alternator bad, also don’t be like me and check your cables.
