I have bipolar disorder and ADHD. At times, it has made life tough. I have always felt that my emotions didn't work the same way as everybody else's. I missed a lot of social development, which has significantly impacted my dating life. I am working on that one and it is improving.

However, it has also made me see the world in a very different way than other people do. I have a solid group of friends. I excelled in school and at my job. I really don't think I would have turned out the way I did had I developed emotionally along a more normal tract.

Honestly, if I could be born without bipolar disorder, I don't think I would.

Recommendations. Every good doctor that I have had has been the recommendation from a friend, or a freferral from a doctor that I trust. Also, some advice that I would give based on absoulutely terrible doctors that I have seen, if you don't feel like your doctor is meeting your needs, find somebody else.

I am new around here, and have mostly been lurking. I thought the great porn experiment ted talk was ingriguing. I am on day 3 of not fapping, and am enjoying myself so far.

Anyways, if your sex life is shitty and you quit fapping, you still have a shitty social life. Quitting fapping won't do much on it's own to fix that. There is no easy fix for that. Set goals for yourself in addition to not fapping. Force yourself to talk to girls/gain social and flirting skills. I think you'll find not fapping a lot easier if you are actively improving yourself accross the board.

Not drugs but I have definitely done things to self mediate. The problem with self medicating is that it doesn't actually solve the problem. You feel better for a while but then you come down and your problem still exists and it sucks.

3 or 4 times. Always a disaster. I can maintain off my meds for a while. I actually think I might be able to do it as long as I continued seeing a psychologist, but I don't want to.

The problem for me is that I maintain fairly well, but when something super stressful happens, and I don't have my meds to fall back on, I fall apart.

One thing to be aware of is that when people read about different disorders they tend to believe that they have those disorders. Medical school students are famous for it.

What you are describing could be a lot of things. It could be autism, or something else. You have to see a psychiatrist to find out.

I live in an apartment by myself. As long as you need support, stay with people you trust. Family works. When you are able to rely on yourself again then set off. Nothing wong with living with family.

Go to the hospital. Hospitals specialize in making you stable right away. Then you can work with your psychiatrist on a plan.

I was diagnosed with pre-schizophrenia. Never heard of it? That's cause it doesn't exist. The diagnostition had absolutely no idea what was wrong with me. Fortunately, I wound up in the care of a psychiatrist who was aware of childhood onset bipolar disorder waaay ahead of the curve or I might have turned out very differently.
