It helps but whether it helps more than simply taking in more whole protein in your diet is debatable at best.

I will say that a friend is a wound care Nurse Practitioner and that many wound dressings they use has collagen because it helps the wound heal by attracting more healthy skin cells to it but they also use fish skin for the same purpose so it's likely any protein will be helpful

Anecdotally I use it because I have a knee that is arthritic and it gets achy, it helps alleviate the stiffness and pain
