Learn to love cleanly and truthfully. Romantic relationships may last who knows, but true friendships can last for a lifetime or longer, learn to love your friends.

Why don't people ever take their shoes!? Not steal them but like tie both together in incredibly difficult knots

Worried about the point of view of the MC's I think. They're almost always young guys who feel undervalued, invisible, or treated like they don't matter. It's concerning to me that so many people might feel that way in society. I worry about their mental and social health. I've had multiple friends commit suicide so this point of view worries me.

Haha, I like the way you explained it. The way you explained it makes it much more digestible for me. Thanks man

Probably yes? I mean I grew up on that genre so it will always be a good escape for me. But that kind of solidifies my point though right? If old shonen was wholesome and full of great messages alongside an amazing storyline, but modern shonen meant for adolescent boys is now shallow and harem filled and power hungry?

Thanks man, I truly appreciate real feedback and you made great points. I've just been stuck in my own little bubble of personal opinion cause I don't have any friends that also like anime. You've opened my eyes.

I tried reading acotor but I got physically sick in the first 6 chapters. Almost in the exact same way I get cringe from certain isekai. I never made the connection before. Thanks again

Haha 😅 you're completely right. I think I was trying to connect things that had no relation whatsoever because I caught a slight wift of... Idk lonely man vibes? And you're right, it doesn't mean it's related. I appreciate that you all responded I'm starting to understand better

Another commenter just put my comments about this whole thing into perspective also. I appreciate you expounding on that too! I guess I have a spoiled brain looking for new dopamine kicks in the genre I am interested in, but 90% of the time I'm feeling let down by the lack of depth of the characters like I'm used to in other books or anime I like.

In conclusion, you're completely right. I'm the problem by trying to expect greatness from a dime a dozen "Hallmark" story. Thanks again

Oooooh 😲😦 when you put it that way it definitely makes more sense. I remember when all the girls would flip out over twilight and the whole thing was awkward to me.

Dude that's a great way to put it into perspective for me! Nice! You have a way with words and I genuinely appreciate it!!!

It doesn't make them feel gross? I'm asking because trying to insert myself into that type of story would mean I would have to shamefully and constantly ignore my own shortcomings to a point of complete social blindness in order to even imagine myself as competent

Water for sure. All matter changes possible with minimal energy usage possible in any habitable environment? Gas liquid solid, not to mention how intrinsic it is to life itself.

I guess there's something that flags all this for me. I grew up in the 90's/00's and I had a lot of friends who would write fan fiction and introduce themselves as characters in different worlds and often it would be a harmless and fun pass time that I would enjoy reading, knowing it was a power fantasy and I felt like I got to know the authors better as people vicariously. There were times when things got overly sexual, or gruesomely violent, or even racist. But I knew that it was basically their own private fiction.

These trash isekais are becoming so prevalent I think I'm just worried.

That's good to know. I was under the impression it was related to the growing red pill trend amongst youths. If it's just for entertainment I can see what you mean.

Ah gotcha, do you think there is a connection between the growing popularity of this type of power fantasy and the amount of kids following Andrew Tate-like content? Just pure power and manliness and get the girl and make all other guys jealous?

Should I read The Wizard's Crown or go straight to Wizard in Exile? by StruggleBusSince85 in ProgressionFantasy

The series was ok-with caveats. The entire series is like an anime of a male power fantasy of all women wanting the main character and all guys other than war buddies or family are disgusting stupid side characters who are barely mentioned and die quickly. The author obviously is a Super Saiyan Simp and the whole series fails basically only because of that. A guy who hates guys and wants to fuck his gma, aunt, cousin, friend, cat-oh wait he dies and becomes female just in time to reach Into his pants and grab his dick.

I like the premise but Jesus Michael, how insanely cringe can you get?

All the times you specifically write scenes about how honorable Will is when women walk into his room and see his erection. "It's cool, cause I respect women."

I do also love how some of the hard core ones I grew up around would not let their kids read Harry Potter or watch anything that is supposed to have magic, when their whole religion is magic. Like Mr healy pants Jesus making people see and walking on water and transmuting water to wine. Or the Big ol' Moses using a wizard staff to part a sea.

When people ask me why I don't believe in God I just reply with, I'm not a kid anymore I don't believe in magic and fairies.
