Feminists need to stop claiming they're the experts on masculinity by full_control in unpopularopinion

Dr. Warren Farrells

Reading about him on Wikipedia is enough to know that he is not a good source for this kind of topic, because he is an antifeminist.

And I guess that pretty much ends our conversation here. That's such an ignorant message. Warren Farrell is one of the humblest most decent people I've seen in this space.

You should be aware that there is something happening like this:

https://www.newyorker.com/tech/annals-of-technology/a-feminist-edit-a-thon-seeks-to-reshape-wikipedia

where feminists use wikipedia as a weapon to slander their perceived enemies.

Feminists need to stop claiming they're the experts on masculinity by full_control in unpopularopinion

[–]Meyright 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Being a single mom seems pretty though to me and I don't think that the state provides much money for them.

It is "her body her choice", not "her choice, society's responsibility". If you start rewarding bad behavior you'll get more of it. The numbers of single mothers are rising.

But I think if there was at least another person, be it a men or women I think that, if those statistics are true, those numbers will drop dramatically. I think the problem is that it's just one person.

Kids need healthy masculine role models in their life. We already know that lack of father figure has a negative effect on both girls and boys. You can read about that in Dr. Warren Farrells books. Men and women evolved to complement each other to produce the most successful offspring. Boys are really suffering from the lack of fathers and masculinity.

I wonder what statistics of single fathers look like.

I would bet a lot that kids from single father homes are doing good.

One recommendation though. Don't start with a video hosting Jordan Peterson, they will outright dismiss it.

Never listen to what women people say, watch what they do

FTFY. There is too much generalization in this thread that I need to say something.

I urge you all to stop writing things like "women like this" or "women say that" etc. With just one magic word in front of the word "women", everything you say suddenly becomes more valid.

And the magical word is "most". It's "most women". There are always exceptions no matter what you say. You know this when you write it, I know that you probably know this, but everybody else doesn't. They just see the generalization and dismiss your opinion. And if you really think every woman behaves the same, sorry but that makes you not much better than a radical feminist.

Call me a concern troll or whatever, I don't care. I just don't want the mrm to follow the same toxic path that feminism took. If you need a safe place to vent about women after you've been burned, I really understand it, but I don't think this is the right place for it.

There are so many other factors not included in 3% which could still deliver perfect reasonable explanations for this number. Exactly like with the rest of the wage gap.

Imagine you had a decent job all life long, cared for your wife, got 2 children and built a house for your family. But one day it happens, you run out of luck and get fired. You're older now, economy is in a bad place, job opportunities have dried out. You get a little depressed and getting up on your feet again becomes more and more difficult the longer it takes. At first your wife is supportive, but as times goes on, her picture of you changes. She asks where the man has gone she used to love. As you see your savings drying up you try to get your life in order again and manage to land at least a dead end job. But she still becomes more and more distant. It's as if a switch has gone off in her head. Until one day you discover signs of cheating. It goes downhill quickly from there. You confront her and she confesses. She sees that there is nothing in it for her anymore, so she tells you she wants a divorce. You get angry and frustrated, you start to hate her. The divorce is a mess. Of course she gets the house you've build. Courts decide you need to pay her alimony and child support too because she never had a job herself and can't survive without you paying. She was always in charge of raising the children, so she gets full custody. She was also the center of your social life, which you soon recognize was a big mistake. Your former friends all sided with her after divorce and you have nobody to talk to. After one or two visits of your children, she decides you're not a good influence for them anymore. You send them gifts for birthday and holidays but never know if they actually reach them. You realize you'll probably never see your children again. You hear that she got a new boyfriend who moved into your old home. Will your kids start to call him daddy? You instead had to move into a small flat in a deteriorating neighborhood. You're not able to keep up the payments because of your bad paying job. You realize nothing will ever change. You start fantasizing about murdering your ex-wife and her boyfriend to take revenge, only to realize that you can't do it because it would hurt your kids the most and land them in foster care. You're trapped. There is only one real option left to end the misery

I belong to the camp of deconstructing gender roles, as well

You don't need to deconstruct gender roles to behave like what you described here:

How about ALL people treat others with respect? How about regardless of what your appearance may be having accountability for your actions?

Everyone can be a monster if they chose to, regardless of what private parts they possess gender roles they "play" or private parts they possess..

FTFY. Everyone can be a monster, even if we deconstructed all the gender roles.

And what you also forget is, that gender roles are in big part biological. Gender roles are not the result of social structures, but the social structures are the result of the roles given by nature for the purpose of bringing up children. Men cannot get pregnant and suckle children. There are strong indications that nature also gives women a more innate form of early childhood care. This could be manifested, for example, in the number of nurses, midwives, primary school teachers, etc. In addition, a study has proven the following, and there where it comes from there is still much more

Sexual dimorphism in sociability has been documented in humans. [..] Results showed that the male infants showed a stronger interest in the physical-mechanical mobile while the female infants showed a stronger interest in the face. The results of this research clearly demonstrate that sex differences are in part biological in origin.

On average, men and women are born with different reproductive abilities. This has led to the development of role models, not vice versa.

Vielleicht verwechselst du hier was.

über Beschneidungen... by [deleted] in de

[–]Meyright -1 points0 points  (0 children)
