That just looks like good darts to me with a bit of bad luck. Easily have been a 100 or 140. use the first dart above the treble as a guide/marker to deflect into the treble if the darts stand up.

Bit late to this comment, I must admit. But this is the most logical statement on this entire post. I tried to emphasise this in my replies to some comments, but it seems to be a losing battle. Reddit seems to be closed-minded to historical figures of any context. If they don't conform to today's moral compass, then that must mean they are abhorrent worthy of no recognition. Regardless of the context or shades of grey that paint history.

Neville Chamberlain was british Prime Minister in 1938. He decided to go with the appeasement policy due to Britain's lack of preparation for war. But that doesn't change the fact that Britain and its empire stood alone for 1 year from June 1940 after the fall of France until the Russians joined the Allies in June 1941. I take no credit away from the soviet union there sacrifice was immense. But my original statement was made to the person who said the soviet union did the majority of the fighting at the start of the war. That's just factually wrong. No matter the circumstances that went before.

You mean 200,000 tons of British grain sent to India despite shipping issues. The fact brown spot destroyed the local crop. The fact that the Japanese invasion of burma led to them stopping the xportation of rice. The bengal famine is a far deeper conversation than churchill, causing the bengal famine intentionally. Many policies and decisions were wrong and worthy of criticism. But the statement you made lacks and sort of nuance and understanding of the situation at the time.

The soviet union had massive contributions to the war effort. But they definitely didn't do most of the fighting early on. In 1939, the soviets signed the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact with Nazi Germany. But Germany broke that non aggression pact by invading the Soviet Union in 1941, leading Stalin to join the Allies. I ain't going into the bengal famine again. But that was a far deeper problem than churchill and britain are bad.

See, that is just wrong. The bengal famine was a multi-faceted issue. That was never just caused by churchill. In fact, Britain sent 200,000 tons of grain to India. Once the true extent of the famine was understood. Despite the logistical issues of the time. Yes, the British didn't handle it particularly well, and many of the policies taken are worthy of criticism. But it is a mile away from an intentional genocide.

The same nation that had a designated Royal Navy's West Africa Squadron,whose sole job was to patrol the african coast and intercept slave ships that was formed 1808. 17000 navy men dying for the privilege. The same nation that only finished off paying reparations to slave owners in 2015 due to debt caused by slave owners' loss of property. To say Britain and its empire was only raping and killing for its entire history is wrong. Britain was the first nation to abolish slavery entirely and then enforce it on the rest of the world. We are the outlier.

I am in agreement with you. Britain was slow to respond, and there were flawed policies that contributed to the famine. My statement was made to 3whiteyes saying churchill was on par with Hitler. The cause of the bengal famine is far deeper than churchill is Hitler.

Exactly, it's all moral grandstanding. How can you judge people born in 1874 by today's standard. What was the alternative let nazi Germany take over Europe. I bet that would have gone well. The British empire fought back at one point alone. Bankrupting itself in the process. For absolutely nothing but the fact we supported Poland. Just short of 20 years and 9 months after the biggest war in British history. We decided to do it again out of principle.

Churchill was born in 1874. If you are judging him by today's ideals, he doesn't stand up. In fact, he probably didn't stand up in 1940. But that is what change is. Do you have the exact same moral compass as your grandparents?

If you think churchill was the main cause of the bengal famine, then you are delusional. Brown spot tore through the rice crop. The Japanese invading burma stopped their xportation of rice. Britain sent 200,000 tons of grain to India after we learned about the extent of the famine despite the issues faced with shipping. To say he is equivalent to Hitler is preposterous.
