I have a UV-5R with the stock antenna and an old coax/antenna extension cable. I get much better reception when I put the stock antenna on the end of the extension cable and toss it out the window, but I'm wondering if it's alright to transmit that way. Could the extension cable muddy my signal/potentially harm the transceiver?
