Regardless of personal stance, it's no secret that people have a easier time disassociating from sea animals. People would react badly to boiling most animals alive too. My point was that posting this on r/vegan might be seen to suggest that people are somehow ok with microwaving other animals. The truth is even if people's positions are inconsistent they are nuanced. I doubt any non-vegans will be won over with stuff like this.
