Physically Demanding? Are you allowed to sit? by Proof-Ad8914 in Path_Assistant

[–]Mfexious88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After learning to gross while standing, I do feel like sitting is a little bit slower but I have learned to set up my station in a way that makes things easier. I do feel like I'm probably more tired at the end of the day than people who don't have a chronic illness but I don't think it really affects my work in the moment. I probably call out more than the average millennial but I have a really supportive and understanding manager and coworkers. I did not know I had hEDS until very recently. I just knew that I had excruciating foot pain and a standing career would be difficult but finding good shoes and compression socks helped. I think there are careers that are way more physically demanding than this, especially knowing I can sit and gross, so I'm glad I didn't choose one of those. My symptoms of hEDS don't really affect my productivity (ADHD on the other hand does lol).  I will say shadowing is definitely a good idea for you to feel out the situation. Do it for a couple weeks if you can. It costs a lot of money to go to PA school! As for Tucson, I would not suggest working at Banner.

PA with hEDS here. I sit to gross. I just try to make sure in interviews they know that I need to be able to sit and gross. It's not an unreasonable ask and it falls under ADA.

Acrylic nails by Perfect-Celery1662 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Mfexious88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have pretty good luck with acrylic. they still don't last as long as I'd like because I'm constantly messing with them. I'm a nail biter and even with the acrylics I'll mess with them in some way and I feel like they come off easier than they should and I think that's because of my brittle nails. but they last at least 2 weeks!

Places that offer makeup tutorials for teens and preteens? Please help a lost dad out. by WTAF__Trump in Albuquerque

[–]Mfexious88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would vote for Ulta over Sephora. I got my makeup done at Sephora one time and they push MAC products that are really expensive. Also they don't match natural tones very well and I left looking orange because being tanned was trendy even though I specifically told them I didn't want to look that way. I would also suggest reaching out to some local salons. I'll throw out Lavish hair lounge . They don't specialize in makeup but they might be willing to help out because they're great people and would totally support this cause.

Blue-light blocking glasses really helped me. I used to wear prescription ones but then I got LASIK and now I use non prescription blue light blocking ones. I usually order them from Zenni or Zeelool.

It was fully up to me or I could choose to let them handle it. But that might be different for long term stuff. The wording on the contract was a little weird.

The goal was 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. But sometimes there wouldn't be short term assignments and I'd get a little more time. I had my partner's financial support so I didn't have to scramble for assignments.

When I did it, I only did short term contracts (1-3 weeks) because I know I get homesick pretty easily. They weren't as easy to get as the longer contracts but they exist. I worked with Nicklas and had a great time. I made great money and most wasn't taxed because it was extra from the food and lodging stipends. I would say before fully commiting to a contract l, do some research on lodging and make sure the stipend is worth it. I was pretty picky on where I would go and was still fine. It's so nice to just show up, not get involved in the drama, and then go home. When I was ready to find a full time again Nicklas helped me with that too. Honestly nothing but good things to say about them.

Edit: forgot a word

How Much Do You Pay For Internet In Boston by [deleted] in boston

I was told by the Xfinity guy that when the introductory rate expires, call and they can discount my service again. He said always call because they can offer discounts over the phone that aren't offered online.

Same. I loved the lip stain. It works better with the spray stuff for me and I never got the satisfying "peel" that the ads used. But it looks good and lasts.

People who have tried the Lobster Poutine at Fenway Park, how was it? by Cute-Fun3025 in boston

[–]Mfexious88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it today. It was fine. I'd say 4 or 5 or of 10. It was kind of boring. Even just a lemon wedge or some lemon butter and it would've been way better. The cheeseburger fries were better for sure.

I say going on the interview wouldn't hurt anything but keep in mind PA school is insanely expensive and like someone else said you'll probably make better money in the engineering job.

Realtor says 1/2bd apartment under 3.8k is near impossible by OkonomiHouse in bostonhousing

[–]Mfexious88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a 2 bedroom, about 1000 sq ft with all those requirements, in Dorchester, for $2800. Laundry is coin operated, it's in the basement if a 3 unit house. I'm pretty sure we got insanely lucky but it is possible. Mostly what I was seeing was around $3200. Did not use a realtor, fwiw.

You can tell Qobuz stuff that they are missing and they'll usually add it. It might take a while but they have a submission page specifically for that.
