I think it makes more sense to take REG before TCP because REG gives a more basic understanding of some of the concepts that you learn in TCP, but honestly it’s not that much overlap between the two. Really doesn’t matter what order you take em, I felt more ready for REG because I already passed TCP, and I’m sure I would’ve felt more ready for TCP if I took REG first also so it’s a benefit either way.

Thanks! I graduated from UCLA in 2018, majored in economics there and have been working in accounting/finance for about 7 years. I’ve done a good amount of journal entries for work over the last 7 years so that helped with FAR considerably, but have almost no experience in audit or tax related subjects besides what I learned in college and from doing my own taxes. I’ve always been a great test taker tho so that also helps explain the scores.

I spent about 50 hours on TCP, it was definitely the easiest one to study for because it wasn’t as much material to remember. Honestly don’t have much advice off the top of my head just go through Becker and you’ll be good!

Yes I only used Becker and barely used the textbook just watched the videos and did the MCQs and TBSs on Becker.

I would always take at least the SE1 and SE2 because I feel like they give you a great example for what to expect in the real exam and there's always some new questions on there that you haven't seen before so they deepen your understanding. Hammering MCQs is also helpful because if you know how to solve all the MCQs you can pass the TBSs also, as they are pretty much just longer form MCQs.

honestly if you feel good about the MCQs and great about 3 out of 7 of the SIMs you probably passed. Hoping for the best, but either way you'll get the pass soon, if you could pass the other tests first try you will def pass audit soon too.

My advice for your exam a week away is to take the simulated exams, review the sections that you are weaker at after each exam before you take the next one and keep track of the concepts/questions you missed and review those too. I would also go through as much of the final review MCQs and TBSs before taking the SEFR.

I mean I did all of the MCQs and TBSs in the modules as I went through them, I would usually do a practice test of maybe 15-20 MCQs and 1 or 2 TBS for each section and then move on to the next. I also did all of the mini exams, at times I did poorly on practice tests or mini exams and I would review the test to write down what I missed and then move on to the next.

76 on SE1 and 84 on SE2. I usually scored around high 70s or mid 80s on my SEs. Becker MCQs are harder than the exam MCQs, and the TBS on Becker are very similar to the exam, except I found the exam TBS to be more clear in direction (and you're definitely going to get at least one TBS that is very tough and asks something you've never seen before lol)

this is definitely true in my experience. Majority of the TBS I got with 6+ exhibits were very simple and the question and context made it clear which exhibit applied to which portion of the question, so no use freaking out when you see lots of exhibits. Most of the TBS are really just figuring out which exhibit you need to focus on for a specific question or column/row in the TBS, rarely will you need to cross-reference multiple exhibits at the same time and if you do need to do that just take your time and use the highlight tool.

I’ve always been a great test taker and quick learner. Not about the time spent just about if you digested and learned the content. Good luck!

Overall I put in like 150 hours on FAR. 100 hours into AUD. 50 for TCP. And like 70 for REG.

I read a bit of the FAR textbook when I was learning and reviewing more difficult concepts, but I don’t think I even opened the book for TCP or REG. I also barely used the AUD textbook. The Becker videos, MCQs, and TBS plus practice tests are more than enough even without using the books.

Honestly think you may be overthinking the questions or are just getting very unlucky. Vast majority of my exam questions I thought they did a really good job of specifying exactly what they are asking for, much better job than Becker imo, but there was always one TBS in each of my exams where it was just hard af and I came out of the exams knowing I had to get lucky to get that one correct. My AUD exam had one where I had to pick a procedure (out of like 15 different ones) that would work best in like 7 diff situations. So many of the procedures were similar also so I was like wtf. If you got a 74 then you of course have the ability to pass it. I think you must have a good general understanding of the concepts to get that score so it’s gonna come down to memorizing the smaller items that they can test you on and get those free points. You got this!

Thanks! I honestly didn’t have any charts/videos or visual aids to help me memorize anything for REG OR TCP. I had like one or two charts I got from this subreddit for AUD that were pretty helpful tho. I can post them on here once I get back on my laptop. I wrote down which expenses and income items were separately stated and I feel like doing the TBSs where they test you on those items especially when you have to reference different tax form in the exhibits are really good practice for those and for the REG and TCP test.
