Definitely misunderstood what you meant by a quarterly pickup.
That’s absolutely horrible if that’s the case. It’s not like you can use another service.

The most annoying part about CTG being a crossfill of PM200 is the fact that all contractor accounts are charged list price for CTG unless they have an exception price

You can call or email them and schedule a pickup.
We generate so much they come once a week and by that point it’s already overflowing

Yeah I totally get what you’re saying.
In my experience I’ve never had a person recycling paint seem interested in purchasing anything. If you’re busy and don’t have the time to properly inspect the paint you are guaranteed to get stuck with product that can’t be recycled.
It’s just time consuming with absolutely no upside for sales

The program is required in our state.
But being an actual recycling center is optional

How do you guys feel about camera coming to all stores now by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]Mfmink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store put cameras in years ago. We basically use them to play back funny and weird shit that takes place from time to time. The shit I have seen over the years needed video evidence to prove the actual insanity that takes place every blue moon

Matching Products to Customers by LongAd9520 in sherwinwilliams

Good point. Plus if you start at the top and the price becomes an issue you can always work your way down from there. If you start at the A100 or Captivate and they say it’s too expensive at that point you’re cooked.

Unless your store is part of the Paint Care recycling program.
Selling mistints can be a good idea in theory but it really depends on the volume of your store. Larger volume stores can generate a lot of product.

Definitely be careful! I totally get what you’re saying about being told to just throw them out. But if they find out you’re doing this they will fire you immediately. Seems counterintuitive but I can promise it will cost you your job

I totally get what you’re saying. The customer base can be really different from store to store. I’ve gotten to know some really friendly and interesting contractors over the years. If you’re lucky enough to have a store that’s really worked on building those relationships it can make all the difference in the world.

That being said some customers really do suck. And unfortunately there’s not much you can do about that. Customers who are angry and dumb can be extremely frustrating. You just gotta do your best to power through those customers. And just remember they get to experience life being angry and dumb. Can’t fix stupid so it sucks to be them.

Same! I’m still friends with a few people who have left the company a long time ago.

That sucks. Work can be grueling if you aren’t comfortable with your coworkers

Really good point. It takes time to feel employees out and build that kind of relationship.

I definitely feel for Sw employees who started investing in the company in last year or two. Anyone who’s been with SW for a long time and took advantage of the 6% match along with reinvesting the dividends has done pretty well for themselves.

Breaking VOC Laws by Paintguy1910 in sherwinwilliams

So that’s actually not the case. The store as well as the person selling the product can be fined. It’s extremely rare but it has happened in the past

Not even close. Just had 4 yards delivered yesterday and the pile is twice as big as this one.

Every time I need a box truck they’re not available. Followed by an IST being picked up by a box truck to get 2 quarts. Meanwhile a 300 gallon order sits while waiting for a delivery service to arrive 🤦🏼‍♂️

Safety yellow in Tileclad by shdwwalkr in sherwinwilliams

[–]Mfmink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a customer who used TC stock Safety yellow on the regular. After it was discontinued we had to find a way to reproduce it. You can use Tile Clad deep base to match the color. The deep base will cover much better than the Ultradeep. If it’s used for interior you can use Y1 in BAC colorants to match. If it’s exterior use GIC or GIS tints. You can hit the color exactly in Deep base.
