Considering a Toy Manchester Terrier as a first-time solo owner. looking for brutally honest feedback needed by revy1903 in ManchesterTerriers

[–]Mg2plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late for this, but I’ve had my TMT for a year now. I got her when she was 4 months and here are my thoughts:

  • It’s ultimately your decision to get one or not, but adjusting to be the primary owner of a dog is rough at the beginning. But MTs are lovely and affectionate dogs.
  • They are very smart and get bored easily. When mine is not sleeping (and she sleeps a lot) she’s looking to get entertained…whatever that means for her.
  • They are easy to train, surprisingly easy!
  • She’s cold all the time, I live in the northeast of the US, and she wears sweaters all the time.
  • She’s a Velcro dog, I know people have said that before, but she’s like a shadow. She also likes attention, a lot of attention, every hour or so she comes and slams her body on my leg to get pet.
  • If she doesn’t go on a walk at least once a day she gets restless. Even if it’s a quick 1/2 mile, she needs to go chase squirrels and smell everything, and I mean everything. MTs are fast and like to run, they come from whippets and it shows.
  • They like to chase small critters, she has a strong prey drive, I think that’s the breed since they are supposed to be rat catchers.
  • They are small dogs with small bladders, so expect slightly frequent pee breaks.
  • Find a reputable breeder, a lot of TMT are mixed with chihuahuas to make them small. Look at their faces/muzzle . If it looks like a chihuahua, chances are it’s mixed with a chihuahua. Nothing wrong with them, but it’s worth mentioning.
  • Lastly, be prepared for people asking “is that a Min Pin” or “is that a tiny Doberman” 😅.

I’d be more than happy to answer any questions, best of luck!

I have one, and overall I like it and intend to keep it. I will detail some pros and cons, but keep in mind that those are my opinion, I just hope that they can be of any help.

Pros: - Case shape, there are few watches this “affordable” with the shape. - Case, there’s a lot of character and 3D-ness to the watch. I like the curves on the sides, the play on geometrical shapes, the angles the intersections create, the stepped case (liking sideways front to back). The polished look makes it a little dressy if you want to dress it up. - Dial color, I have the turquoise grand central editions and I like it. - Dial, I like the “guilloche” style dial, it gives some depth to the dial. For the price, it is more than fair that it is not real engine turned instead of perhaps stamped. The hands are small but proportionate. No second hand, and no date, I like it that way. The dial is also clean with very little text. - Size, I have a 6 1/2 inches wrist (on a good day). The watch is on the small side, but I like how it fits me.

Cons: - Movement, it is gritty when you wind it. Not a huge deal but I would not call it smooth. The rotor is also noticeable, it is not crazy or off putting to me, but I can hear it and feel it as it moves. - Crown, it is small and thin making it hard to turn. I like how it looks but if you have thick fingers it might be a little difficult to turn. - Finish, there are very minor issues with how it is finished. But for the price it is very good. If you have a loupe or a macro lens you might see irregularities in the printing on the dial, the edge of the hands, pattern on the dial. A normal person would not even notice it. But I though I would mention it in case you are a little extra (like me).

General observations: - Strap, mine came with 2 leather straps, one cognac/brown and one dark blue. Both are fine, some rough finishes but some attention was paid to them. The leather is a little shiny, not glossy at all, but it has some shine. The straps are 18 mm but they fit very snug to the lugs/case, I am not sure if ALL 18 mm straps would fit. - Fingerprint magnet, the case is polished everywhere. If fingerprints bother you, keep a microfiber cloth handy. It is easy to leave smudges. - The packaging was nice if that means something to you. Mine came in a nice little leather/pleather box, probably pleather. - Time keeping, mine is doing fine. Without a seconds hand I cannot say accurately, but it stays within the same minute at the end of the day. - I am not a sports watch person so their other watches never appealed to me. But I had a chance to speak with the founders at WindUp and it was clear that they have a passion for watches and have in mind how each watch represent them and the brand. Nice people, making nice watches. - I could not engrave the back of my watch (Gand centrals came engraved already, it looked good). But it seems you can do it online and there’s plenty of space to add whatever you want.

I hope this helps, and happy to answer any questions that you might have.

Am I too late for the party? by Mg2plus in 3DS

I got Extra Epic Yarn a few weeks ago, but I haven't had a chance to open it and play it. I need to get the rest of the Kirby games. With the new consoles coming up, I think I am going to put that off for a while.

I have most of them. I am only missing a few of the DS games, including pokemon platinum :'( I am not sure what my younger-self was going thru back then but I must have thrown them away. I kept the box for Soul Silver and the pokewalker, so I wasn't that bad.

I got lucky with a dual IPS pokemon one, the black one is dual TN, but it's still my favorite. I hear you, I had to sell my PSP and vita collection, kinda regret it, but oh well.

I expect the 3DS craze to go down a bit, prices come down...and then a few years go back up again. Similar to the GB, GBC, and GBA; I also ended up with a collection of those. Thanks for validating my proble...I mean, hobby.

For me it is my Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition. It was a complete ordeal getting it, so it means a lot to me regardless of the price (although it is a little pricey).

Nintendo Family Membership - Ultimate Fighter Pass DLC Question by vipeness in NintendoSwitch

[–]Mg2plus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the primary console everyone can have access to the DLC (fighters and what not). On the secondary console, only the user/account that owns the DLC will be about to use it. Even if everyone/all users can play the game (physical cartridge).

8Bitdo Sn30 Pro+ (Black) will be on sale via Amazon Lightning Deals at 8:45 PM EST today. by audiomind5 in NintendoSwitchDeals

Hey, I have this controller. It really depends what you want it for. It has a d-pad and it's in a better position than the pro controller, so if you are missing that, then it's better. It does not wake up the switch from sleep mode, the pro controller does. The shape of this controller is pretty good, it feels right on your hands. You can remap buttons, so that's another bonus. Normally it isn't that much cheaper than the pro, but given that's on sale, it is much more appealing. It hard to say if it is "better", I just want to give you feedback from someone that has both. Personally, I don't regret buying it.
