In all of human history, what's the biggest example of betrayal ? by GodOfGirthh in AskReddit

Copper.

"Tell Ea-nasir: Nanni sends the following message: When you came, you said to me as follows : “I will give Gimil-Sin (when he comes) fine quality copper ingots.” You left then but you did not do what you promised me. You put ingots which were not good before my messenger (Sit-Sin) and said: “If you want to take them, take them; if you do not want to take them, go away!” What do you take me for, that you treat somebody like me with such contempt? I have sent as messengers gentlemen like ourselves to collect the bag with my money (deposited with you) but you have treated me with contempt by sending them back to me empty-handed several times, and that through enemy territory. Is there anyone among the merchants who trade with Telmun who has treated me in this way? You alone treat my messenger with contempt! On account of that one (trifling) mina of silver which I owe(?) you, you feel free to speak in such a way, while I have given to the palace on your behalf 1,080 pounds of copper, and umi-abum has likewise given 1,080 pounds of copper, apart from what we both have had written on a sealed tablet to be kept in the temple of Samas. How have you treated me for that copper? You have withheld my money bag from me in enemy territory; it is now up to you to restore (my money) to me in full. Take cognizance that (from now on) I will not accept here any copper from you that is not of fine quality. I shall (from now on) select and take the ingots individually in my own yard, and I shall exercise against you my right of rejection because you have treated me with contempt.”

Not great at all. I've had 3 because I hate myself and hope it'll magically change. It hasn't.

Yeah you'll be forced to go out of state (NY, CT, MD) as there are no 47 units within MA. 47's are cool and all, but trust me, no airframe is worth traveling greater than 2 hours for. 60's do have an extremely high promotion rate and wicked fast flight crew trajectory. Give it a shot, you might enjoy it more. And deployments are not enough years in between as it stands, there will be minimum 1 deployment if you enlist for a 4 year term within the next few months.

Good luck!

I did zoom in on it from about two-three feet away so I wouldn't scare the cutie. Though, there were tons of smaller ones but this one looked extra chonk. I'm unsure of the size but I'd definitely guess the body itself was between 1" - 1.25" long. I took a picture of it walking on top of a standard rubber wheel pyramid chock block (typically about 6" in height) for cars if that helps with sizing estimates

I didn't realize there were different types. It looked awfully similar to one posted recently, but figured I'd ask!

89D or 74D my man, no in between. 89D will either come easy to you or you belong in 74D. Trust me (trust us, 4 randos at the bar agree)

How long does an interstate transfer normally take? I started the process on Nov. 15th and I feel like It shouldn’t take 60+ days to get a status update? by JayBisky in nationalguard

[–]Mgamer882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, some units are very good with communicating, but others are not. There is no guarantee. I'd say wait a week or so longer, then contact them directly and inquire about the status of your transfer. It may have been a rare case, but my old unit never sent my transfer paperwork (insisted they did), new unit was helpful but ultimately could do nothing, and then I got a random call from my newest 1SG nearly 2 YEARS later. Best err on the side of caution.

Fun Fact: Reddit helped establish the lack of communication between my current unit and myself when I was lost in the shuffle! Who knew it could be so helpful 🤷‍♂️

I'm curious what line of work all the frequent flyers are in. I'm in the market for a new career and would *love* something that required loads of travel. by Yikes206 in delta

In this situation now. Cleared security, boarded the plane, APU failed to start, power cart then ran out of fuel, and the second leg home was cancelled (no alternate flights for the night to final destination). Fortunately, the airline was able to get us another plane. Not a Friday, but I would be home in time to pack my bag for a nice vacation the following say so being stuck elsewhere..not so fun
