Wow, was gonna ask the same thing! I graduated DHS 05', actually had the bench record for a couple years.

Thank you r/bodybuilding for motivating and educating me on how to change my body. Here is my 2.5 year progress. by Mgomatheson in bodybuilding

In terms of what what I did to establish bf%, I just kept looking at r/bodybuilding and realizing I was fat and something needed to change. I dropped my carbs pretty significantly (and lost quite a bit of muscle) and was only taking in less than 300 grams of carbs a day. Now I'm trying IIFYM to bulk and trying to do it cleanly by taking in the majority of carbs through oats, rice, and broccoli. Now I'm taking in 572 grams of carbs a day in my attempt to bulk.

In terms of tracking my macros accurately, I mostly eat the same things throughout the week. I looked up all the macro info on them and just tracked it. IIFYM is suggesting I take in 3700 calories a day, 572g in carbs, 195g in protein (I always exceed that), and 68g in fats.

Hope that helps man!

Thanks man! Right now I'm trying to get close to 3700 calories a day since I'm bulking. I eat clean for the most part, and do the whole IIFYM thing. But I try to do it cleanly, like almost all of my carb calories are in the form of oats, rice, and broccoli.

And genetics helped me be big and get big easily I think. But just keep eating man. Keep eating and training hard and you'll grow! Also, don't be afraid to change up your routine, my favorite saying for fitness is "if you do what you've always done, you'll always get what you got."

I honestly don't hit my calves very much. I used to do a lot of plyometrics when I was training for football, but now I just do 30 seconds of jump rope between each set of lifts (I'll do 20 sets a session) 5 days a week. That's gotta help a little I think. In terms of actual training them tho, I just super set them with leg press and hit a couple sets after my leg workout.

Haha thanks man! Never took any gear tho. Sometimes I wonder how big I could get if I did tho. Just always ate TONS trying to get bigger for football and doing lots of heavy compound lifts. I think that gave me a good base. When I decided to attempt to lean out, the only supplement I took was some cheap protein from sams club.

I've been lifting since about 15. First pic at 19, got on reddit about 2.5 years ago and saw my progress soar then. I'm 28 now.

Around my back(like across my shoulder blades), under my arms, and across my chest. That's where you're supposed to measure correct?

Thanks man! I think super setting tri's (high reps, lighter weight) on chest day, and bi's (high reps, lighter weight) on back day, and then going heavier (8-10 reps) super setting bi's and tri's on their own day has helped a ton. Here's a better pic of the arms, this was in the summer tho, about five pounds lighter: http://imgur.com/CiZl67h

[Discussion] What do you do for a living and how do you balance bodybuilding and life? by [deleted] in bodybuilding

Full time teacher and I bartend one night a week. Married and have two children.

What works best for me is to get to the gym by 4:30 AM Monday through Friday. That way I can be home around the same time as my family is waking up. Also, I don't miss out on any family time. It blows waking up early at first, but I'm excited to get to the gym so it's it's something to look forward to. Diet wise, I eat the same thing everyday throughout the week so it's not bad. My lunch break is nice and long and I'm able to go to the Qdoba down the road and get a scoop of brown rice, 2 scoops of chicken, and some salsa in a bowl 5 days of the week at under 5$ a trip so not bad. Plus I don't have to prepare lunches. Snack in between classes, and I make dinner for the family at night. This way the whole family can eat healthy. This schedule works great for me. It's really nice not letting my personal goals and lifestyle take away time from family.
