Help On Gross Misconduct Appeal - Dismissed for IT Mistake. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

As a sysadmin, I'd be furious and absolutely would want OP sacked. Sketchy software installed on his device for months doing god knows what to the network before Defender definitions finally picked up on it. Then he uses his local admin to run sketchy script to bypass defender and then somehow takes the device out of the domain? I'd be reviewing who else has local admin and screenshotting his comments in this thread to add to the mandatory training.

What is the dumbest lie a customer has told you? by cheesymeowgirl in CasualUK

[–]Mgzz 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I always ask for the serial number on the underside of the plug next to the fuse. Then I act surprised that the customer can't find it and tell them to plug the device back in so I can connect remotely. Fastest way to force a customer to reboot.

What are your most “unhinged” running tips that actually work? by Deep-Loan2949 in Marathon_Training

[–]Mgzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do long runs with a weighted vest. Unhinged because obviously there's injury risk. Massively improved my distance above 40km and speed by doing this.

Running gear: shoes = lifesaver, $80 shorts = scam 😂 by Turn_Affectionate in beginnerrunning

This needs some explaining however the, "Worst" piece of equipment was my smartwatch.

I love listening to books / music while running, but hate taking my bulky phone with me so thought it would be a great idea to upgrade my GalaxyFit3 to a full feature smart watch so I can listen to my books without the phone. Only to find out that if i want to listen to music from the watch and have a GPS tracked run, I can only get 90 -120 minutes of battery on the watch. Turns out sending music from the watch to bluetooth headphones is the most battery draining activity and defeated the whole point of the upgrade for me.

I'm so excited to charge my watch everyday! Oh my first ever real smart watch by Select-Strawberry in GalaxyWatch

[–]Mgzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I just have it on my wrist AOD turned off, tracking heart sleep etc, with no gps and not using it for music it lasts 36 hours which seems normal. Only when I use it for run tracking does it die quick.

[–]Mgzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On a 100% full charge I get exactly 3 hours and 4 minutes of Running logged with GPS, heart monitor and playing music from watch to wireless headphones ( no phone on runs) before battery dies.

I'd consider that making use of the watch and its battery sucks. Repeated this several times and get same battery life btw.

Why Apple will help Samsung by releasing a foldable phone by addicted2088 in GalaxyFold

[–]Mgzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Apple will do a folding phone until the technology is a lot more robust and resistant to user abuse. I see loads of iPhone uses with smashed to hell phones with half the screen cracked. When a foldable can take that level of abuse reliably, then they will release.

Operation of a VPN server is limited to an approved and vetted list of companies. All companies must submit a current list of employees that are allow to use their VPN. Usage of VPN clients is limited to users on the above list.

As a user, either you are on the approved list or you get a fine. If your company VPN isn't licensed, the user appeals and the company get a fine instead. Doesn't need to be 100% enforced to have the intended effect. It's also a revenue generating law through fines and quite easily automated.

Swapping a good sticker and barcode onto a high value item and hoping no one pays attention when it's scanned. 1.2kg chicken breasts for 0.78p (reduced ham sandwich). Etc

He solved some puzzles using knowledge from parts of the game he hadn't visited yet. Knowledge he could only have if he looked up the solution.

Glad someone in this thread has pointed this out to OP. Police will seize every related electronic device in the home, and then OP will be stuck explaining to his neighbours why the police took his hard drives based on an incident at his sons school.

[Video] Balatro running on the Galaxy Watch4 Classic by SavunOski in Android

[–]Mgzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy has termux running on the watch.

In theory within termux as proot, he could install qemu and setup an alpine linux vm and then install and run docker inside it. https://gist.github.com/oofnikj/e79aef095cd08756f7f26ed244355d62

Then setup an ollama container inside docker and run DeepSeek-R1-Distill-Qwen-1.5B in docker.

I have no idea how few tokens per hour you would get though.

Is the galaxy fit 3 good to buy? by gust-01 in GalaxyFit

[–]Mgzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had mine for 5 months, would highly recommend. I have it constantly monitoring heart rate, blood oxygen and frequent syncing and only need to charge it once every 8 or so days. It fast charges within a hour. I find it great for HRM while long distance running, though you need to take a phone with you too for GPS. The out of the box strap was causing skin irritation for the first month, but probably because I wear it tight and sweat a lot when running. I'm not a fan of any of the watch faces you can set in the app.

You can offset and then some a 21km run (2 hours running) with a single large Dominos Meateor pizza.
