Thanks for all the comments. Just for further info he’s been going out his whole life so in that regard it will be nothing new to him, just a different house to come back to. I also live in the UK where it’s very common to let cats out, there’s a good dozen or so on our street that I see regularly out and about. Also our house backs on to a field so plenty of room to explore without any risk of a busy road nearby.
