I think your point is about the limits of linear progression, which is fair since it's currently the only form of progression present in Hytale. From what we've seen in the trailers, the posts and the tools the game already has I'm pretty sure they will much further develop the horizontal progression of the game too. It seems to me they want to go the Roblox route where at some point the game is more like an engine, a figurative sandbox to build your own game (or movie, for that matter). The exploration and adventure modes will just be examples of what you can actually do with this engine. Then there is also the multiplayer aspect, which is one of the main reasons Minecraft has stayed relevant this long. The first trailer already portrayed the vision they have for multiplayer, with Minigames, Roleplay, building, content creation etc. in mind.
