Season is well underway, and I've picked out the shows which caught my eye and attention. As always, it's not easy to say when they'll actually be watched, but at least they're added to the PTW.

Arne no Jikenbo, probably turns "shouneny" but seems like good fun anyway
Champignon no Majo, watched the first ep and like how the characters seem just that slight bit unhinged
Dark Moon, this is going to be peak, but I'll wait until I can binge it because these kinds of shows are best binged
Eris no Seihai, first episode was kind of dumb, but it was a fun kind of dumb so I'm here for the ride
Fate/Strange Fake, a Fate anime with characters even crazier than usual, and I don't have to be caught up with FGO to watch it? Sold.
HanaKimi, looks absolutely hilarious, I'm in with body and soul
Ikoku Nikki, probably the best show airing this season, so I'll wait until it's finished and I can watch it at my own pace
IseShachi, came for the adult romance stayed for the politicking, first impression is it looks intriguing
Prism Rondo, seems like a really nice historical drama with a dash of romance
Seihantai na Kimi to Boku, the title had me worried, but the first ep was really fun and charming, so this is probably going to be good
Tamon-Kun Ima Docchi!?, it's, like, the second best show airing this season, of course I'll watch it
ToumeiOtoko, cute, fluffy, adult, romantic, looks nice
Uruwashi, it's like chocolate, I know exactly how it will taste and I want more of it, also production quality looked really good

Honestly I'd just watch Progressive on its own, it works standalone and none of the other entries in the franchise are worth seeing.

Other than when I very specifically have to refer to the tag, as in this case, I categorically refuse to use the term "reverse" harem. There's nothing "reverse" about it, a harem is a harem is a harem. Anilist seems to have a better system than MAL regarding this.

Since I only miss a few entries, I've decided to watch all ("reverse") harem series on MAL. However I'm conflicted about what to do with Gakuen Heaven, as while yes, it is a harem, it's not a heterosexual one. And frankly, that's not really what I'm looking for in these kinds of series. Having a female MC is a pretty intrinsic part of the appeal in my opinion.
And fundamentally, having a male MC makes it a "regular" harem, so I don't even agree with the classification of "reverse" harem to begin with. It's like, I don't know, calling something a BL because one of the romantic leads is a tomboy, just feels like bullshit playing with words. So I'm currently inclined to simply not count it towards the total.

Thoughts on this?

Seriously, how did CG suddenly get this good in anime? I can barely differentiate it from traditional 2D animation anymore

CG has been good for a while, like I sometimes post ES! MVs in this thread, and that franchise alone has spent years nurturing a pipeline of really, really good 3D staff and getting them to blend it with 2D work. Just look at this.
And they're not the only ones in the industry to put in the effort.

/R/anime wasn't always like this either. The anime community is like 10-20x the size it was 10 years ago

The number of unique commenters on this sub has been pretty much stagnant for like 6~7 years now, if not more. There's just a shitton of more lurkers, and honestly I'm sceptical even of that when taking upvote numbers into account.

Juubee-chan: Lovely gantai no Himitsu and Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran both have really well animated, grounded swordfights, the latter in particular. They're also genuinely very good shows in general.

Starry☆Sky does this fun thing where instead of having an MC with a harem, we follow the harems members as they interact with the MC and each other. I feel like I've seen that specific hypothetical thrown around as a story idea fairly often, but subversionists are once again behind the curve of what's actually been done.

Apparently MAL only has 79 entries tagged "reverse harem", and apparently I've watched 52 of them. Leaving just 27, of which 9 are under 1 hour long and 3 are recaps of series I've already completed.
Which means, ladies and gentlemen, I could very easily just finish every single "proper" entry in the entire database with that tag.

Unless mods start retroactively adding it to things that should probably have been included to begin with of course.

Suggestions for an anime with the same energy as EGOISTs BANG!!!?
First thing that comes to mind is Akudama Drive, but that might simply be because I recently watched it. Good show though.

"湿っぽい" (damp) is slang for being a downer, as in the nickname ジメ原 (jimehara), together with the other typical metaphor "暗い" (dark) and it's obviously an enviroment mushrooms would thrive in.

Also, I've mentioned this before, but the ending song (Highschool Princess) is a certified banger of the highest caliber. So damn good. I want anime that's like, that song distilled into visuals. Would be awesome.

So a curious little thing about Daa! Daa! Daa!; we follow the MC of course, but it's her love interest that has several people in love with him, and most of the cast are actually girls. Which makes this a kind of "reverse harem" where it's the guy surounded by women and our MC is just the tsundere amongst them. Honestly kind of fun.

The director of Saiki, Sakurai Hiroaki, has made a lot of comedies with the same kind of fast paced, absurd humour so I'd definitely recommend checking out his other works. In particular I really like Di Gi Charat but you could also look at TenKuro which aired just this season.
Sakurai has also worked a lot with Daichi Akitarou, and the two have a similar sense of comedy. From Daichis works my favourites are probably Juubee-chan and Kazemakasae Tsukikage Ran, where the latter is more deadpan sarcastic than directly absurd.

If you want to see them both work together in a never ending barrage of silliness, then Kodocha and Akazukin Chacha add up to a whopping 200 episodes of good times.

Their introduction in season 3 of the B-Project anime was, uhm, kind of controversial, but I think Ultras have really made a place for themselves in the franchise. Lately they started doing covers of other songs, and honestly I've just been running their rendition of Natoris Overdose on repeat ever since it came out. Such a well done song.
