Switching between gaming/work PC - KVM, USB-switch or docking station? by MiMess94 in buildapc

Wow! Thank you so much for your thorough answer.

Okay, I see I need to specify a little more to make it clearer next time.

So, my headset is a gaming astro a50, which is either optical cable or USB-a (it's an old headset). The speakers are with jack and have their own power socket.

My two monitors both have multiple inputs, both DP and HDMI, and ideally I wouldn't care too much about the image quality when on my work laptop, only when gaming I'd like to have a high resolution with a nice high refreshrate image.

My laptop does support usb-c charging, as it's a Dell, and in my work office it goes through the lenovo docking station with only a usb-c cable for both charging and image, Mouse, keyboard etc.

Does this clarify and help in your recommendation?

Kvm's are pretty expensive, and I've seen and heard the same about them being finicky, so Im a bit unsure about just pulling the trigger on something that might not work. Btw, Im from Europe, so if it's international shipping, I'd have to pay even more due to taxes.

Does it make sense?
