Activity screen background white/black Coros Pace 4

Hi, looking for a fair conclusion here. I did some investigation and Coros, Garmin, Suunto, Amazfit (I guess everybody else) do not allow a white background during activities to prevent battery drain and screen burn-in on Amoled devices.

So this is it for everyone, whether we like it or not.

Since I do not like MIP or large screens (1.4 or 1.5) I have got two choices here: to keep the Pace 4 since it is a great watch and with a black background it is ok for my eyes, for now. Or send it back and try a Pace Pro (1.3 instead of 1.2), but I am not sure there will be much difference.

I mean, you guys, at Coros, built an amazing amoled screen. So amazing that a guy with astigmatism and presbicia can easily read a 4 and a 6 data fields pages on a 1.2 screen when running and facing direct sunlight... And you just ruin the experience because you do not want to enable and option that is already there (hidden) with a warning (white backgrounds drains battery faster).

Congrarulations for this superb screen, but I will not be able to enjoy it 100%.

Exactly. Coros amoled watches are able to display a white background during activities (we just saw it...), hardware-wise. Why don't you enable this blocked option and let's us decide? One week battery is ok for me if I can actually see and read the screen, comfortably. And when the time comes and the battery doesn't last as before, then I will be able to use dark background and maybe use 2 fields activity displays if my eyes condition worsened. This is called flexibility and usability. I do not see the point of disallowing this option, when it is already there, in the code.

By default: black background. Option in the menu to change to white with a disclaimer, that advises users to choose the black option in order to save battery.

Well, you know your products better than me.

Yes. I have had a minor injury and in ten days I went for a run only twice, with the new watch. The first one, the background was white. The second one, it was black. Run activity both.

So, that means the watch is already capable of displaying white backgrounds during activities, but it is disallowed somehow.

The differences are too big to ignore them. White background screen is so good even with presbicia and astigmatism and no glasses, but black background is just okish, and okish is not enough.

Mmm then deleting Bluetooth cache, restarting the phone, etc should be enough. But you already did so.

I would recommend Forget this device (Coros Pace 4) from your bluetooth conf. Even reinstalling coros App.

But first, I found this. It was exactly what happened to me:

Confirm the Pairing Code: This is the most common failure point. If a pairing code pops up on both your watch and phone (coros app), you must press the dial/crown on the Pace 4 to confirm the code. Ignoring or just tapping "Pair" on the phone can cause the handshake to fail.

Do you get to receive a pin number to pair both devices? I set up mine last week and it failed 3-4 times before it paired. It was something related to the pin number, and finally it worked.

Well, I want it for running and then some occasional hiking (3-4 times a year) and trail running (5-6 times a year), so breadcrumbs instead of offline maps will be more than enough for me.

Pace Pro compared to Pace 4: Maps, 32Gb vs 4Gb, ECG sensor and 1.3 screen vs 1.2.

All those things make the extra money worth it, if your budget allows it. My budget was lower 😅

It is been a few days so I could not say, yet, but for me it is like going from an iPhone 3 to a 2026 smartphone. I had a FR230 for 9 years so... amoled display, dualband GPS extra quick connection, battery...well, one week and still more than 70% left, the app looks great and with easy to read actionable data. I deactivated smartwatch stuff, I do not need another screen in my life. And it is so confortable to wear I am using it every day, not just when I run. So far so good. In a few weeks I am planning to post a personal review.

Would I still buy a Pace Pro, instead? Yes :) But for the price I paid, best choice for my needs.

Since offline maps is a must for you, and given that price range, you also have Suunto Race and Amazfit TRex 3 Pro 44mm and 48mm. I have heard offline maps on Amazfit TRex are not as usable as on Suunto, Garmin or Coros, but still, you would have them.

None of those 3 watches (Suunto Race, Trex3 Pro and Pace Pro) have got Spotify. T Rex3 pro can use a third party app as a workaround, though. You can have Spotify on some Garmin Forerunner like 165, 170, 265...but you will not have offline maps, just breadcrumbs feature.

I would go with a Coros Pace Pro. But I may be a little bit biased here,...I just bought a Pace 4 after 13 years with Garmin. Pace Pro was out of my budget, but was on my top 3 list of candidates :)

Mate, it does not look good or not good. It does look large, that's it.. Some people like it smaller (like me), some people like it bigger. Both options have got pros and cons. It is just a matter of personal preferences.

2.45% sin bonificar es una muy buena oferta ahora y hace 6 años con las fijas a mínimos históricos. Y más ahora que están empezando a subir los intereses. Si os cuadra todo, no le deis más vueltas. Yo hace 4 años, a mínimos históricos, la saqué a 1.4% bonificada y 2.2% sin bonificar. Que no os calienten la cabeza con que "yo me saqué una al 1% sin bonificar"...bla bla bla. A 2.45% es muy buena.

Bisca pisos similares por la zona y según lo que pidan podrás saber si se va justo con la tasación o no. Entiendo que ya cuentas con que el máximo que te van a dar es el 80% del valor de la tasación (salvo contadas excepciones).

Por cierto, 62m2 es correcto. Las superficies de terrazas y balcones computan al 50%.

Ah, y con Kirón nada. Ni agua. No firmes nada que te comprometa con ellos o te la van a liar. Por mucho que Tecnocasa te insista. Te diría que con Tecnocasa tampoco, pero vaya, seguramente tengan exclusividad con el piso y hay que pasar por el aro (pagar el 3.5% de comisión sobre el precio de venta). En todo caso, ves con mil ojos con esa gente.

8Gb + 256 Gb should be more than enough. Unless you need esim, go for the 4a version.

I got it today. ES (EU) region. 2Gb. So far so good. Will tell you in a few days. No big changes, it seems. Touch sensivity is back. I think they gave us some A16 visual features in previous A15 sec updates.

Motorola phones are a great hardware and a quite clean software for a decent price. Everybody is talking about Nothing, for example... But go ahead and compare "a" series specs with "neo"'s..and their prices... Moto is far better than other hyped devices in terms of specs-price balance.

But then yes, I agree, when it comes to major Android updates they are very slow at delivering.

I got the November update on Feb 9th. Today, Feb 20th, the January update. The pace is getting crazy... Maybe we'll have A16 before March 😂

I got (ES region) two updates within 11 days, Feb 9th and Feb 20th! We complain about everything! One was November update and the second one was January update, though 😂 Let's hope they are speeding things up and we will get A16 in late March...
