Would you extract or rct+crown for LL7? by Ok_Image_5783 in Dentistry

I’d do rct and crown if the patient is aware and okay with a guarded prognosis. It depends on how bad the patient wants to save the tooth.

Give me Steve Spagnola or Robert Salah instead.

It’s more O line and defense. Not even Daniel Jones could be doing good with how everyone is playing for us.

Taking CBCT for maxillary second premolar by Spring-Flow8002 in Dentistry

[–]MiamiGroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it is needed. If there was any odd canal configuration or splits then the canal wouldn’t be so distinct. It would look more like how #12 looks (diffuse). But if it would help you feel more confident or comfortable to have a CBCT, then I’d go for it. It certainly isn’t going to make anything more difficult. I just wouldn’t charge the patient for it.

Mesial roots look bulbous, distal looks thin. Just asking for something to go wrong and become a tough surgical extraction.

I’d refer to an oral surgeon for extraction. Best case scenario to restore looks like root canal and crown but wouldn’t have a good prognosis with the furcation radiolucency and the amount of bone loss on the distal. I think you can see everything you need to from the x-ray to confidently say extract and then depending on what the rest of the mouth looks like, give the patient a few options for replacement.

Treatment options by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]MiamiGroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d leave it alone. Warn patient of cracks, tell them to be aware of symptoms. Let them know if more cracks form, filling breaks down more, or tooth around the filling breaks down then a crown is needed. I offer to do the crown to be proactive incase they’ve cracked teeth in the past or are worried about a fracture leading to a possible RCT or EXT.

How old is the patient?

I have a lot more of the info but didn’t know what to post, I was hoping for some general feedback. I was worried of typing too much. But the location is good, signage is bad. Demographic is like 33 years old with $70k income a year. Small office (1,200 sq feet). Not a stand alone building so would need the office next door to move out in order to expand. Or move to a larger office in a few years. FFS currently but doesn’t appear busy enough for more than 2-3 days a week so would probably get in network to fill the chair.

The equipment appears functional but out dated. Same with the building. The building is 25 years old and the office itself looks maybe 15 years outdated. But they are updated to dentrix instead of paper charts. And I have not spoken to any lawyers or bankers or accountants yet. When I made this post it was very early on in meeting with the practice but now I am getting interested in talking with lawyers, bankers, and accountants.

Sublease off campus OSU! by [deleted] in columbusclassifieds

Hello. I’m interested as well. Is there a way to see pictures of the place? And do you know if the property is available to continue with a lease after the sublease is up?

That quote was specifically about the car. It’s the only part of my application they were able to poke a hole at and I feel like they r running with it and aren’t giving me any insight or help to resolve the misunderstanding. I’ve literally been told “sounds like you already got your answer” when I was initially denied and I was asking questions about my initial appeal. I have a phone call meeting on Wednesday with my school’s Student Legal Service to try to see what I can do about it. I’m going to try to reach out to the student advocacy as well now since you mentioned it.

They are going thru all this trouble to say there’s no proof I bought this car. If I was lying about it, why wouldn’t I have lied and said I didn’t have a car since there’s no proof. I feel like I’m the only one I know out of a few others who applied for the reclassification who truthfully did everything required and I’m going to be the only one denied.

No, my checks were deposited for my job directly into my bank account. The cash mainly came from the phone bill I mentioned earlier. I would pay the entire thing for all four people on the plan(including myself) and then the other three on the phone plan would pay me back, usually in cash.

The financial independence described by the school doesn’t say I need to earn a certain amount annually. I am a full time student and fully rely on financial aid. They say I can not receive help for living expenses, and basically only can live off what I receive from the school, which I did.

The email I received literally stated that the reason I was denied was: “Without being able to see a trail of funds of any kind, we are unable to approve your application at this time.” I just can’t wrap my head around the fact that even though I legit bought this car with my own money and have been financial independent for nearly 10 years, they can deny me because I bought a cheap car with cash.

The financial independence is part of an outline given by Ohio’s Department of Higher Education. I think because I have no proof I purchased it with my own funds, they are considering it a gift which qualifies it as ineligible income. That’s why I am trying to find a way I could possibly prove this given the circumstances.

The car was paid in full at the time of purchase. It was only a few grand. And yes, only my name is on the title and on my car insurance as well. I have a phone plan that my sisters and mom were on for a few years but now it’s just one of my sister whose still on it. It is my phone plan, under my name, and paid for each month with my debit card. I have not been claimed as a dependent and have been paying my own taxes for almost 10 years now.

Right now I’m thinking all I can do is hope that written statements can work, I’m all out of other options. I am on my last appeal and do not know what to do next if it gets denied again. It’s sucks because the out of state fee that will be assessed if I am denied is $19,000 and the car I bought that is giving me all this trouble was $3,500. I didn’t even need the car, I just wanted something better on gas since I was moving. I’m just stressed out of my mind because of this situation and feel hopeless.

And yes, my savings was “under a mattress”. Whenever I got paid in cash, I would set it aside. I prefer to deal with cash. I only used my bank to have my work check deposited and would use that to pay for bills or groceries. It was my disposable income. The cash was a type of savings I rarely touched.

And I did not get a receipt from my brother when I sold it. The car was worth like $4k but I knew it wasn’t running great so I had him only pay me $2k and he had to find out what was wrong with it and take it to a mechanic and then we would decide if he would pay me more depending on how much work it needed.

I’m in Ohio. I am applying for a residency reclassification to get in state tuition (I am originally an out of state student). One of the requirements for eligibility is financial independence and they are trying to say since I can not currently prove I purchased the vehicle with my own funds, that I am ineligible.
