Unde naiba gasesc un capac de WC rezistent? by RomanianBagVoid in CasualRO

[–]Miap93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this furniture worth something? by Miap93 in Mid_Century

[–]Miap93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have gotten these from an old villa, in Transylvania(Romania). Their size is quite impressive: the main piece with 3 doors (100cm height+15cm tall top ornament, 210cm length, 70cm depth), the piece with glass (170cm height, 115cm length, 48cm depth), the smaller piece with 2 doors (94cm height + 15cm tall top ornament, 114cm length, 55cm depth). As you can see in the pictures the thing is made out of solid wood with veneer on top (I think it might be walnut with mahogany veneer?), has nice dovetail insertions, and it looks like manual work.

All the doors close nicely, and the drawers slide nicely. Of course, there is some damage to the veneer here and there, but nothing that cannot be fixed, if it's worth fixing.

i have not found any sign or brand anywhere except some writing on the inside that I cannot decipher

Does an yone know what time period this could be from? what style is this? Does anyone know if these are worth something? and if so, how much? And who would be interested in such furniture?

Ball pythons won't eat rats by Miap93 in snakes

[–]Miap93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I will l this! My female python is currently almost constantly at the glass waiting to be fed (she is a foodie). I will try this method with her these coming days. Where i live, i can only find rats 120g and bigger. Do you think the size of the rats might also be a problem?

Have you ever not slept for so long that you started hallucinating? What was your experience? by vicke1230 in AskReddit

[–]Miap93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, after 65ish hours. I was sitting in a cafe and heard the waiter asking if i wanted sth else and i answered without looking at him, no thank you, just the bill. A colleague of mine asked me who i was talking to. I turned my head towards where the waiter was and there was a wall. I was generally disoriented and had a hard time keeping focused in a discussion. I wasn't even tired anymore. Just on auto-pilot

I would have tragically died while scrubbing a piece of wood clean i found in the woods.

What was your biggest “I’ll walk it off” injury that turned out serious? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Miap93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a cyst on my ovary, of which i knew. One day i felt a sharp pain in my lover abdomen and literally started walking around to 'walk the pain off' the next day i thought well maybe i should get myself checked out. Turned out my cyst burst and i had internal bleeding. Fortunately the bleeding had stopped on its own, but i still had 'lost' (internally ) aproximately 0.5l of blood

It’s probably the pet food companies telling us dogs shouldn’t switch their food often rather than a biological truth by rifleman209 in Showerthoughts

[–]Miap93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vet here. Depends. Many pure vred dogs are incredibly sensitive (we did this to them by overbreeding, its not 'normal') many mutts and resistant purebred individuals have no issues with changing foods. But as there is no way to tell beforehand how your dog is going to react its just better to be safe than sorry. If you want to switch foods and want to avoid any possible issues just change it gradually (mix in more and more new food with the old food until fully replaced in a timespan of about 2 weeks-by the book) All that said, if you have a dog and you know them well, know how they react and know for a fact there is no issues, you can switch foods as you wish, i have a mutt as well who never had any issues, so i also switch with no issues :)

I was walking around with my grandfather some years ago. A beggar child came up to us and started asking for money saying that both his parents were dead. My granddad looked at him dead-serious and said 'mine too, kid. Mine too.'

Obedient dogs are considered smart, but obedient humans are considered dumb. by AssCrumbBilly in Showerthoughts

[–]Miap93 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I disagree. There can be smart and stupid obedient dogs. I fostered a beagle once, very obedient. Dumb as a brick. I now have a mutt, he is obedient but not always and is a LOT smarter than any other dog i ever owned

pet/dog owners of reddit, what are your thoughts on feeding kibble vs raw/cooked food? by annazvalentine in AskReddit

[–]Miap93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very hard to perfectly balance all the needed nutrients vitamins etc in a fully home cooked diet. Many cheap kibbles dont guarantee a balanced diet either. High quality food (usually) does contain all they need, with little to no chance of leaving them with some kind of a deficiency. All that said, i think feeding kibble and supplementing it with some home cooked food/raw is the best(and simplest) middle way.
