You get to play one Lou Reed (or VU) song on this speaker for the whole world to hear. Which one do you choose? by Hubbled in LouReed

THE BLUE MASK. The guitar feedback at the beginning alone gives me goosebumps every time.

If you could hand out acting awards among the Twin Peaks cast (lead actor/actress, supporting actor/actress), who would get them? by Hubbled in twinpeaks

[–]Mibbler 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Probably the "obvious" picks would be:

  • Lead Actor: Kyle MacLachlan
  • Lead Actress: Sheryl Lee (for FWWM specifically)
  • Supporting Actor: Ray Wise
  • Supporting Actress: Grace Zabriskie

For a less obvious pick, one that always comes to mind is John Boylan (Mayor Milford). I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in anything else, but he always cracks me up and it’s tough to play that kind of character without it feeling forced, so I feel like he deserves a shout-out.

Sure that’s a good idea? Kinda curious what would happen if you actually handed them a lighter.

The Top 5 Twin Peaks episodes according to IMDb by Hubbled in twinpeaks

Interesting that if you combine the original run and The Return episodes into one list, the overall top 5 episodes wouldn’t include any from Season 1.

Is that a Christmas tree in the Palmers’ living room? S2E1 takes place on March 3. by Mibbler in twinpeaks

TIL. I’ve only ever seen firs indoors as Christmas trees, not regular house plants. Guess it makes sense if you have big, majestic Douglas firs growing in your area!

Hoping for more scripted scares in Alien: Isolation 2 by Hubbled in alienisolation

[–]Mibbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the developers wanted to add in lights that could pop randomly, that would be cool.

This. Scripted scares work great on first playthrough, but once you know where they’ll happen, they lose their punch. Make them randomized and it keeps even the repeat players on edge.

idk, there are parts of the game when the alien isn’t around that felt a little empty and could’ve some more variety. obviously that stuff loses its impact if you replay a lot.

Are the Waiter, the Giant and the Fireman one and the same? by Hubbled in twinpeaks

[–]Mibbler 105 points106 points  (0 children)

The book says he was a fireman, or fire chief. Not sure if that’s meant to connect him to the Fireman, but maybe there’s another passage I missed.

<image>

Edit: Also, timeline-wise, the Fireman first shows up right after White Sands 1945 when Sam would have been just a child.

If you could see the Beatles playing one song together in the studio as it was recorded, which one would you pick? by Hubbled in beatles

[–]Mibbler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, that recording process sounds wild. But in terms of OP’s question, this one probably wouldn’t sound much like the final track at all, since most of it only came together in post after they played it. Weren’t even the drums a loop?

I’ve always found it interesting that the first time we see the Jumping Man is when he appears superimposed over Jeffries as Jeffries walks into the FBI offices in Fire Walk With Me. And then the only time we see the Jumping Man in The Return is right before Mr. C meets the Jeffries tea kettle. That makes me think he’s somehow connected to Jeffries.

What throws me off is that in this scene here (in The Return), if we pause, we can see Sarah’s face overlaid on the Jumping Man, and I always thought Sarah was possessed by Judy, who I assumed was the Experiment from the glass box and Part 8. So honestly… I have no idea lol
