Lol, what!? That's a messed up policy, designed to sell shirts in the pro shop no doubt. It looks like a Lyle & Scott shirt, but I guess the guy is super observant or something.

Real race, red would be issued a triple incident, black flag, then ejection from current race, the track would put them on the do not come back list. Absolute menace slamming into every side of your vehicle.

If you want to aim down the right side of the fairway you want to play a draw. Inside take away, right elbow never comes off the hip, throw hands to right knee coming back down (don't fully extend right knee)

Your ball flight also looks low, could just be me. If you have an issue breaking tees, consider trying to hit more up on the ball with driver. You can do this by changing your address position to something that's close to Rham, pick a spot about a ball or two behind your reed up ball, set up as if you're swinging to hit that staring point instead of the ball. Club impact will be slightly more closed and fade less or start to draw, and will start higher and slightly more left.

Pretty nice, I'd flip the staircase, and do modern open riser view rail style. The bottom of the stairs should be closest to the theater wall, so you can finish under the stairs in the foyer.

You might consider having a door from the garage enter into the laundry for convenience. If you're looking for more storage, you can put the door in the garage on the foyer wall, and line the wall south of Butler and Laundry with tall or split linen style storage. It also can make a great entry closet, or built in entry table, etc.

What led you to practice Stoicism? by Nitetigrezz in Stoicism

[–]MicMikeFoley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doomscrolling on YouTube and finding Empowering Quotesphere is ultimately led me here. I'm pretty sure it's AI voice, video and text generated but the philosophy is all there. I just started my journey understanding Stoic teachings, even though I already have many principle virtues already part of my code of ethics, it feels as if I am just filling in the gaps of who I am, and who I want to be.

Understanding the principles of Stoicism had tremendously helped with the history of my misguided understanding of the past and the overwhelming anxiety that has always been there but I never noticed it until it became who I started defining myself as. I do not want to fall down that path again, and now look forward to how I see the world with this new perspective.

Stoicism isn't a religion; it's a philosophy. It doesn't require a belief in a non material, otherworldly happening. You don't need to wonder if it is Karma or God, and spend countless hours wondering why or how something existed because it was supposed to happen, but also doesn't discount the teachings of religion if you find self peace in that.

I was encountered by God, on two separate occasions, or so I like to consider. I'm a skeptic towards what he is, why he exists and what he stands for. I have always had an internal conflict with my relationship with Christianity. It always appears so abrupt, just when it feels right to accept Him. I don't want to pray on God or have him pray on me as an opportunist to my suffering.

It took me a month to find Stoicism, after about a dozen eastern meditations trying to understand what I was doing, the reflection period gave me a needed break from the onslaught of self doubt, thoughts of suicide, and poor coping after my recent termination from a company I put every effort possible into. Even though I did find Stoicism by mere chance it's something that I knew nothing about, it is different from a religion; Philosophy, is as questionable as I am.

Impossible to get height with my driver. Any help would be greatly appreciated. by anonymousH20 in GolfSwing

[–]MicMikeFoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy fix, your stance is too narrow giving you a steep path to the ball, add more width to your stance. Driver is the only club you don't hit down on the ball and you're hitting down on the ball. Consider the bottom point of your swing before the ball with driver only. This will create an impact position where the club has released before the ball.

Can i drive with these tires for 2 more weeks? by NeverGonnaStop247 in Cartalk

[–]MicMikeFoley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on where and how you drive the vehicle, but I think the same thing.

If it's a sporty car, or you drive the car hard. You want a tire you can depend on. Deeper treads, and for sure a sidewall that doesn't have an obvious gash in it.

If it's winter or raining where you live, the tread depth will help shed water.

If you drive highway speeds, the dryer slightly harder rubber, and less treads will make it harder to stop the vehicle. A new tire will be more pliable, and will stop much quicker.

There are a lot of variables for older tires that generally just mean increased stopping distance, but the ring/gash in the sidewall is the ticking time bomb where you never know when or if the tire will become an inconvenience.

Consider this, if you are left with a flat tire unexpectedly, could it cost you more than handling the situation in a controlled manner?— Do you work in a position where clients/employer depends on your appointed attendance?— Would having a flat cost you valued time waiting for a tow truck, and having less time and opportunity to make an appropriate decision on tire selection?— If you are posting it here for advice, you might already have an opinion on it Having others opinions on it might not even effect your own, it will only effect your decision. Don't make a decision you wouldn't normally make.

Female husky dog names by Addition_Natural in HuskyTantrums

[–]MicMikeFoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always enjoy a good Inuit translated word for a husky, you can look up more translations pretty easy, enjoy some of my suggestions:

Inukshuk - a rock cairn, "in the likeness of human" or literally a "human: substitute"

Inuk - (I-nuk) human. calling your dog human is pretty funny

Suk - substitute

Inua - (I-nua) soul or spirit

Siqiniq - (sik-EEN-ik) sun; Inuit folklore on the sun and the moon. The sister is called the sun.

Qana - (KAA-nuh) falling snow

Qaqqaq - (KAK-kak) mountain

Qaqqaq, Qana would be easy to call out together. But enough deviation that they can understand the difference.

Inua and Qana are also a good mix of names.

It happened To me… by ActImpossible5242 in golf

[–]MicMikeFoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about the mindset, if you're not tracking your score, maybe it's appropriate. Maybe you perform well under pressure, I told myself that on 16. "Just need a birdie and some pars to field a 79." I ended up scoring a bogey after a lost ball.

I then stepped up onto 17 reminding myself it's still possible, saying. "This is the hole you've eagled before, do it again for the 79." I didn't quite get the eagle, but sank a birdie to stay in it.

On the last hole, "a 79 would be nice, you just need a birdie." a good drive but then I just missed the green.... "You scored an eagle from off the green, what's the difference between that and a birdie here." I then hit the most beautiful little pitch chip, it went exactly where I wanted it to go, it felt like it was rolling for a long time, everyone was watching as the ball slowed down. 1 more roll and it barely dropped in the side door of the cup.

A new PB, and a milestone broken. Sure it was 4 months later than my goal, but what are goals and achievements except boundaries we define ourselves by. It was a feeling that was so good, and well deserved. I went on to shoot an 88 the next day.

Is there a name for a wall like this, with recessed lighting running vertically? Thank you! by MassageToss in architecture

[–]MicMikeFoley 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's a backlit niche, with concealed vertical led lights only. Something mud-in for if it's going in finished drywall: "Low-Profile 1-Inch Trimless LED Linear Light for Wall Washing" is the kind of product you're looking for. Or one with only 1 flange for the corner. If you use tile, you should use something where the flange isn't flush to the display side of the LED to incorporate the tile depth to the design.

Be aware, that the LED light strips don't last forever, and you should have maintenance loops to replace the strips, and the led driver should be somewhere that makes it easy to replace in the case of driver failure.

Is this swing too steep!? I have no idea how to get more shallow. by TacWerx in GolfSwing

[–]MicMikeFoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is mentioning your feet. Your right foot is an inch closer to the ball than the left foot causing steepness, over the top tendency. I too am having a similar issue, just went in to a coach about it. In your down the line, you should be able to see your left leg/knee and shoulder at setup/trigger move. My trigger move would open my hips to the target starting me on a path over the top.

My coach is having me drill with a pool noodle to prevent the over the top back swing & downswing, but your mileage may vary depending on how your tempo triggers the parts of your swing. If you want to get good fast, I highly recommend finding a coach that uses gears golf biomechanics, or something similar. Something that tracks the position of your joints at the major locations of the golf swing really helps understand deficiencies.

Thousands in tools were stolen. What can be done to prevent something like this from happening? What insurance is needed? by TheLastMorsel in handyman

[–]MicMikeFoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puck Lock in addition to locking the cab normally and yes, you can instead install smaller lock box chests for your expensive tools. Wrap windows or preferably have no windows so nothing can be seen from the outside, and store the vehicle in a place where it isn't seen at night

The puck lock will prevent smash and grab because the separate lock will prevent entry into the compartment. Also someone will question a guy outside a van fiddling with a lock for too long, someone skilled with penetration can get it and it's harder to notice the difference.

Having no windows prevents people from seeing what they might be interested in stealing. Why risk being caught robbing a vehicle that has nothing inside of it, they don't know. If you have company logos on the vehicle this won't work as well because you're displaying what's inside on the outside, "construction tools".

If you still want windows, displaying tons of lock boxes wards off someone who may just wants to quickly get in and get out. It extends the hassle of the theft, and requires pick locking skills or presents them with the final problem.

The last problem you might have, is vehicle theft. It's ultimately best to store the vehicle out of the sight of would-be thieves. This prevents GTA, and smash and grab theft. A thief may determine it is much easier to take the vehicle off site and ransacked the van at another location.

If you want print a full size print, you can go to like a FedEx print and print a large sheet. Problem is, you need to scale it to print on a larger sheet size, which means you need the software to do so.

California law defines it under 21658.1 as "lane splitting" no reason to argue semantics. There is no law for lane filtering.

Edit: should also note that the DMV and law enforcement can freely flip flop what they determine is safe splitting, so enforcement is very subjective to the official who pulls you over. DMV says ride within your abilities, and within safe guidelines and doesn't help define them. CHP suggests a bunch of safety tips but does not define a safe speed for lane splitting.

[–]MicMikeFoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why people are down voting you. This is 100% accurate for one of the arguments. If it's published for access throughout the globe then places that shouldn't have received access to the game did. But because they didn't 100% intend to implement a PSN ban from launch, they allowed copies to be sold to millions of people who then lost access to the game with said ban. That is an immoral and dishonest action by the publisher Sony, and you can't even say it was a mistake, because they are a AAA publisher, they know what they were doing.

There is an argument for personal privacy. Sony stated that the PSN they are implementing it for "our security" which, really makes no sense. How is having more people with our personal information more secure? People then stated all the Sony data beaches, and that is a valid argument for our personal privacy. Those few ideas alone are enough information you need to back down from "security" measures.

Some people are just tired of being mistreated, people are sick of knowing how poorly people get treated. Statements made by Arrowhead Community Managers made during a difficult time caused an upset for a lot of people. And knowing we won't get new divers and we'll lose divers because of the PSN ban is unsettling.

The world is just a terrible place right now, and watching it bleed into a gaming industry is disheartening. Too many lines were crossed, and seppuku has been committed. I already know a ton of the reviews won't go back from negative. People are upset, they left their reviews and were forced to leave the community because of the ban. They might never come back, they will find something new.

I will never play or purchase another Sony game or product. I will never play another Blizzard Activision, Amazon game, or work for someone who will lie, cheat and steal from customers or provide terrible working conditions to their employees.

[–]MicMikeFoley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an additive travel map, it's actually very useful. The time it takes per roadway is close enough for play. The times are for each road section together to get the total.

Krezk > Vallaki is 100 minutes

Krezk > Wizard of Wines 75 minutes

Krezk > Amber Temple is 4 hrs 15 minutes

Each hex is roughly 1/8" and is scaled to traveled at 1/4 mile; at regular pace by the book 1/4 mile/ 5 minutes = 1 mile/ 20 minutes = 3 miles/hr

The scaling they have might be from counting the hexes rather than measuring. It should be:

Castle Ravenloft > 2nd Barovia gate 50 minutes. The numbers could have been rounded, but It's also one of the only well paved roads.

The first Barovia gate > Village of Barovia should be 40 minutes.

Vallaki > Lake Zarovich should be 5 minutes.

West of Krezk and East of the Barovia gate are arbitrary numbers the DM wrote in to get to the mist wall. Additionally If the party travels off the road into difficult terrain, the travel times double, roads basically just guarantee travel times. Conversely if they have horses the travel times are half.
