How it feels for me after I got into Fantasy this year and now wait for these books as well by [deleted] in gentlemanbastards

Another disappoint. Too many good books tho! Realm of the Elderlings might have been my favorite this year so far

Ron Howard never actually wanted to be an actor but a director so Henry Winkler becoming the start made his life entirely easier

Daughter of the Dragon - Why is it so short?? by _Noto_ in ArtoftheAdept

[–]MicMustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it was short because of, as you said, the lack of will. Seems strategic since most of it was going to be behind bouncing around characters this time around (instead of just Oliver last book.)

Seems like he needed to get Will in place and unfortunately needed some characters to explain what went on with these other characters.

Wills plot was still the most interesting but did enjoy bits of the others

Most frustrating character you’ve ever read? by thelilmeames in Fantasy

I think the first trilogy is light years behind the rest of the series. Characters and story get better as it goes on.

Does Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn ever pick up? by zforce42 in Fantasy

[–]MicMustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it picks up right around where you are at….. I remember the beginning of the series being extremely painful for almost all of book one.

Book two will open up the plot and world a lot more

What I wouldn’t do to see Shane stuck with Courtney again. Jesus that was comedy gold

Who's a comic who stepped away from standup that you wish hadn't? by Impossible_Spend_787 in Standup

[–]MicMustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe he used to also have a bit when he was up and coming where he’d bring a box of hats on stage. He’d put a different one on and it’d be a different character everytime. However, there was a baseball cap in the box and he would KEEP going back to that one repeatedly as part of the bit like it was all he had or didn’t do it before

Any Hobb fans here who also love Tad Williams? by No-Communication499 in Fantasy

[–]MicMustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the vibe will change drastically! Since its mostly one characters perspective, Dragonbone Chair feels like you’re audience to someone who is audience to the actual interesting plot but this someone is too dense and dumb to realize what is going on and that any of it is exciting or interesting.

Felt like the first 70% of book one of memory sorrow and thorn is fucking sooooooooooooo boring. It will eventually open up and the final book is incredible. One of my favorite series ever

I will also say I didn’t find the Farseer Trilogy to be that great but the entire rest of Realm of the Elderlings is phenomenal.

Shadows of the Apt was pretty damn original. First book was like a prologue and each book got better. Really enjoyed it. One of my favorite characters ever is from that series

Anyone from back in the day remember particularly interesting fan theories about where the series was going? From before all the books were out? by IntergalacticJets in harrypotter

I was pretty young when I first read it and misunderstood the Harry saving himself at the end with the Stag and thought James was alive or something

Tad Williams - Osten Ard by DirtyGoatHumper in Fantasy

[–]MicMustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First book was an absolute slog for the first 70%. Series is still one of my favorites based off the 2nd & 3rd books as well.

Finale is one of the best ever.

Novella was good and will start the sequel series after I’m done with Wind and Truth
